I have an x-treme tester and lately when I use it takes a while for the colour change, mostly the purple. I know it's not the pills cause I tested some ones from before.

I have had it for year and stored it at room temp. Is this the correct way?

Thanks in advance

Which reagent is it? If its marquis it should be stored in the fridge and a year makes it definantly too old.

Yes it's the marquis reagent. Why should it be stored in a fridge and 1 year is expired?

DR K, keeping in the fridge slows down the aging process. As the tester ages the formaldahyde slowly comes out of solution and the reagent reacts with air etc etc, cold slows down this process.

Yes, again, the tester is too old. Replace it.

I'll take this as a chance to ask about my Mandelin...

Should it also be stored in the fridge?

I got a browny like reaction on pills that were quite noticeably speedy.
And some other pills that definately felt MDxx/Speed had no reaction at all.
However, I did recently get a strong blue/purple/slightly black reaction with some bikkies that were notoriously hard and full-on.

Sorry to people who don't know the colour scheme of Mandelin tester.
I'm am right to assume it is fucked up good and proper?
I've had it for 6 months but my storage has not been careful.

Thanks.

you don't need to keep it in the fridge. you should keep it closed tight though. You're saying that sometimes you get a good result and s'times you don't? i dont understand what you are trying to say. try testing s'thing that you know contains mdxx or speed. this tells you if your test is still ok.
the test works or not.

Yeah sorrry man...poorly explained.

My last 4 tests:
1. I had some Speed/MDxA pills turn green then light purple...Seemed reasonably correct (although we had previously suspected more MDMA than speed.)
2. Some very speedy pills got a browny reaction.
3. Some speed/possible MDxx pills got no real distinguishable reaction...definately no green, but not really like PMA or K.
4. I had some supposedly 'smacky' (for lack of better word) pills turn a deep blue/purple before eventually going a light shade of black.

I guess I was the only one who witnessed the reactions and colours are hard to describe...so this is proabably equally useless.

I think it may be 'going off', it seems to have a seedy crust around the lid and appears to be a 'yellower yellow'...Anyway, it doesn't seem accurate anymore.

These 4 are pills very commonly available in Sydney at the moment...In 'Pill Testing' forum are pill ID's allowed?
