Is my cannabis smoking justified?

Hi guys!
English is not my first language, sorry 
I’ve always had problems with my emotions/feelings. I can’t describe them and I don’t know what I really want. Because of this, my life is pretty shitty and I’m going grey. People must think I’m stiff, emotionless or even mentally ill. I did many bad things to my family, also. You really wouldn’t like to live like that.
I consulted some specialists, but it didn’t work. I don’t want to take any prescribed medicines which are very harmful and addictive (I mean physical dependence).
But there is a solution for me and it’s called cannabis. When I smoke, I know how I feel at the moment and I know what I really want. Even if I’m experiencing the worst bad trip, I know this is how reality looks like. I feel the real life. I don’t use it for sheer pleasure – I use it to know what reality is. I just feel like a man who is sane. I am not a typical stoner and I am not an addict (I haven’t smoked for almost a month).
All I need from my life is emotions/feelings. I know that love and friends/family are the most important, but if you can’t feel or express your emotions, it means nothing. I know that many people feel bad and that’s why they smoke. But they FEEL…
Should I keep using cannabis as a medicine? Is it justified? Why/why not? I really don’t want to live like that any longer.

Sounds to me like a typical case of bi-polar/depression. Taking meds isn't a bad thing.

Your brain is an organ. Just like your heart, lungs, liver and so on. Just as others have heart disease or asthma and those organs go bad so can your brain.

I for one have asthma and I would be straight up dead without albuterole. I take no shame in taking meds.

Depression is a chemical imbalance in your brain. Meds like cylexa, Prozac and so on help your body produce more seratonin (happy juice) where your body dosent produce enough.

Marihuana also does just that, only on a quicker and more intense level.

As you continue to smoke for a long time your brain tells itself (well this dude is smoking and making all this happy juice for me. Ima take off to the carabean and take a vacation for a bit! Thanks for doin my hard work for me. Cya later.)

Then when you quit smoking that part of your brain is still on vacation leaving you empty inside. He will eventually come back though if it sees you need it again.

In closing - marijuana creates chemical dependency as much as people would like to believe otherwise.

There's no evidence so suggest that depression is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain. SSRI's like Prozac and Cylexa have shown to be no more effective than placebo's in treating depression in many trials and there is no evidence to suggest a relation between serotonin and depression, since serotonin levels can't be measured.

I believe this has been the argument for decades. I have no PhD so I won't take sides. Just what has been taught to me in entry level psych classes.

On an unrelated note... Did you used to play a game called infanty? I knew a Ryanbee there. Kinda a unique name so takin a stab at it

I believe, this is not depression. I took some meds (not too much) for almost 2 years and it didn't work that well. My withdrawal effects were really terrible. It was my strong will that helped me stop taking this. Many people would have simply given up. It's much worse than a typical hangover. I've never felt that way after smoking marijuana.
I am fully aware of the side effects of marijuana, but still it's better than prescription medicines. I don't think any psychological treatment would help me, because I'm rather reserved. I'm not 15 or 18 and it would be a waste of time - I just want to live and feel like a sane person.
I don't smoke to forget about some bad things in my life - I just want to feel it.
Prescription drugs are expensive and harmful. And you need a prescription all the time.
Unofrtunately, in my country cannabis is illegal. Cases of medical use are very rare. If I admit that I smoke, people will think I'm and addict or a criminal. It's better to say I'm dependent on prescription medicines (then they will sympathize with me). But it shouldn't bother me...? Unfortunately, I also think I do something wrong and unacceptable. Fortunately, I don't look like a stoner so people don't know that I smoked.
I'd like to know how Dutch people treat people who use cannabis as a prescrption medicine for mental diseases.

Someone claiming to be that one special case for which the rules should not apply has proven time and time again to be untrue. Search for a better solution and consider yourself fortunate.

pmoseman, you may be right. I will do as much as I can to use cannabis only as a recreational drug. It won't be easy, but I will have to 'learn' my emotions and feelings. Thanks for your answer.

Okay. My feelings are any use of cannabis that benefits you in any way, is justified. It is a plant, first. God gave us this wonderful plant as a cure to many ailments (cancer, included!), as a mood enhancer, as a spiritual tool to help you better understand both yourself and the Universe. Thomas Jefferson said, "If a law is unjust, a man is not only justified in disobeying it, he is OBLIGATED to do so." He, surely, is smarter than, I! Who am I to disagree with such wisdom!

But the problem with it is that when you smoke , i would some a 2g's of some good quality herb and then i would just feel "normal".

^ First, in response to the post above me, in one sitting, you shouldn't have any need of smoking more than .25-.5 grams of weed, really...and .25 usually does it for me. When you start talking about smoking grams at a time, I'm sorry, but unless you put all your spending cash into weed, I don't see how that's not inherently wasteful...but anyway, moving on to my response to the OP:

I personally feel that, barring getting tested for jobs and all that mindless bullshit that we have to deal with in America for some reason, especially as weed really has NO bearing on your productivity in day to day scenarios (as there's next to no hangover for weed with regular smokers), weed smoking is usually justifiable on a person to person basis. It just depends on where you are in life...if you're using it as a crutch, and you're consciously using weed as a crutch, then just stop for a while. But you're talking about once a month? The question should be more like, how is that not justified? Barring what I said at the start of my post.

Terrence McKenna said weed was best used when smoked (or whatever your method of ingestion is) once a week. If you're smoking less frequently than once a week, then you're definitely not using weed in a compulsive manner, in my opinion. McKenna was a very smart dude, smarter than me, so I'm liable to follow his opinion. Questions of justification besides frequency of use are purely opinion so that's impossible to answer. Other people can't figure you out from a post. Peace.

If you're happy with the way you're living, if you're able to work effectively and take care of your responsibilities, the answer is always "yes".

The trick is not lying to yourself about doing what you need to do and not doing what you need to not do.

It's easy to lie to yourself, but it's even easier to lie to bluelight. I can't tell you that you're okay, but if you're not experiencing problems, you're okay.

I would pu it simply that you are self medicating to help with your problems expressing your feelings. I think if you don't want the chemicals the doctor has prescribed and you are getting benefit then yes it's justified, That's my 2 cents.

This, with one added caveat.

Make sure you do not become dependent upon it. There will always be times where consuming marijuana is not possible and you need to be able to handle those times with minimal issues.
