Is meth taking over our cities and drug scene? please read and comment

In Arkansas, and Missouri ,meth has been available everywhere ,especially in rural areas since the late 1980's that I know of. Also crystal meth from Mexico and California are available as well as locally produced crank which is pretty pure when obtained from a "cook" as much as 90-95% using anhtdrous ammonia and ether ,etc.. the laws cracking down on the amount of pseudoephedrine pills a person can buy and have has lowered the overall numbe rof meth labs locally, but the crystal meth from Mexican dealers has far overcome the gap left by former local meth labs..The prices for crystal meth are so low here that many former meth cooks find it safer and easier and cheaper to buy crystal meth and sell it instead of making it themselves..It has been here everywhere since I was in high school.(graduated in 1995) and it just increased by large amounts every year.It has become the "drug of choice" among people of high school age to even people in their 60's..Epidemic is a good word for it I suppose but it has been that way here for over 20 years.

My impression was that Iowa/Nebraska has been overrun with meth since about 1998, peeking about 2002 and in slow but steady decline since. Problem with my perception is that it is based on where I was and who I associated with, plus local media. My unprovable opinion is that meth is on the decline here.

A lot of meth comes from small "labs" and another part comes from Mexican cartels. I wonder if in the OPs Arizona experience some of this is about changing routes that cartels use. Another part is that drug scenes cycle about what is vogue and what is "bad shit". Meth in general tends to wear out its welcome. I'm sure some people somewhere use it reasonably. Enough people use it in monstrously ugly ways that it usually goes into decline within a community even with no LE interventions.

Like a forest fire it has to spread out because it is to all consuming to hang around one place for long.

It has worn out it's welcome here but still is around.

I wish it would leave here and spread elsewhere,it has been rampant here since the late 80's and early 90's and continues to grow and grow here, after 20+ years it has worn out it's welcome here in my opinion but it is still here, and still going strong sadly...

I'm in kansas and it's the same here. Red and black took off like crazy in the late 80's, but the knowledge of how to do it was a closely guarded secret, if you wanted to learn how it was a $1000 and half your first batch. And we meant it. But mid to late nineties the anny cook arrived and things totally changed. I did 18 months in prison in 98-99, and in the time I was gone everyone I knew learned how to make meth and most of them had gotten busted doing it. It was like that until they made you start having to sign for the pills, that slowed things down some, but ice arrived to take up the slack. Now the shake and bake has arrived and there are more people making it than ever.

I've also heard Iowa.... which is a shock to me. my dad's side of the family owns a farm there. I've never ever imagined iowa to even be a drug state... i mean it's Iowa... but then again i guess the lack of things to do there vs. a big city like Phoenix would be good reason to use drugs. and now that i think about it there's lot's of farms to cook in. And i'm sure meth makes you a much more efficient farmer lol

West Missouri has been overrun from the very beginning
all of missouri has a meth problem, even urban areas like STL have apartments blow up now and then.. gas leak my ass.

South Dakota has always been a meth state as far as i know. My dad and all his friends did it back in the day. Some still do. Its the one drug my dad said to NEVER do because it will catch up wit you in the end. Has not yet. But who knows.

I also in Arizona and the county Im in has a had a meth epidemic since 80s and there s no slowing it down. Labs blowing and people getting busted cooking it almost daily. I mean it is a huge problem. Started with the coke epidemic in the 80s, then came crack then came meth........and meth and more meth..........Last three years epidemic of pills and now most of those who are strung out on opiates have moved to heroin. Ive seen heroin a plenty hitting the streets and growing daily......and again there is the meth.........meth and more meth..........

I dont care what drugs a person chooses to use or not use. But in all honestly......after all the years I have dealt with addiction............I can't stand tweakers...they make me nuts. lol

Tried it, Hated it. Tried it again, Still hated it. I don't get it. Whatever floats your boat I guess.

i can tell your also in Arizona just from reading your part about pills here and everyone moving to heroin. I was one of those people. what part of AZ?

I'm the OP and i totally forgot to mention this... The house next door to me is and has been a rental for all 21yrs of my life... when i was about 15 the house catches fire while i'm out of town. We get a call from my dad later explaining what happened and it turns out they were cooking right next door to us. i knew nothing about drugs at the time, but now that i think back there were always different cars coming and going at all times of day and night.

honestly I dunno whats the biggest drug here but I'd say meth because of the gay community .

The meth here I dabbled with when I was stupid enough to was really fucking fire. Incredibly fire.

I've seen quite a bit of everything up here. I honestly do not partake, but to the guy that says whatever floats your boat......word.
blah

i'm not being a dick but what does meth have to do with the gay community? i used to hear people talk about mdma and the gay community. Is it just cuz it's a party drug? and gays like to dance more than straights?

i think it has to do with dancing and being outgoing and the fact that men are typically more willing to do drugs than women and are usually more horny than women, so when you got 2 men together its more likely.

so 2 men+ being horny+ gay clubs/dancing=meth is perfect

Gay men lack women as dominant forces in their lives. Women infuse men with restraint & civility. The only possible way to keep the party hearty nature of the gay community in check is to call their Moms. Other than that there is no stopping them.

1. gay because i've already see YOU use this

2. you'll be back bitch

So from what it sounds like... meth has, is, or is becoming the drug of choice in many many areas.

Honesltly... if demand stays up (which most likely will) is it possible for states to "GET RID OF METH" as Arizona politicians like to claim they'll do.

I'll answer... it's impossible. right?

i'd agree with you and say impossible. politicians just wanna get in office. lol @ obama saying he'll remove the troops and never did...now that elections are coming up again he's brought the subject back up.

Im in Kingman. Between LHC, BHC, Vegas, not far from Cali.. central location all the way around. But yeah the pills are rampant here. Almost ridiculous. But this new OP has people squirming....Glad that is one Opiate I refused to use. But I predicted a few years back that heroin was about to make a big comeback and man oh man is it ever. lol. And again, there is meth meth and more meth....... Another one I detest.

Well its 200 miles from Phoenix. 100 miles from Vegas. 35 from Bullhead City Laughlin. 60 From Lake Havasu City. Right on the California, Nevada, Arizona borders. Its around 40,000 population now. A lot of people live far out away from others...One area in Kingman called "birdland" is tweaker heaven.

As for PIGS.....you do me the men in blue who come to get you eh? Uh, that population has grown as has the local area MAGNET, ( undercovers ) But you can pretty much find anything you want on just about every block in town. Very corrupt legal system. I mean very corrupt.
