I live in Glendale, AZ and am not involved in the meth scene whatsoever.

however I dabbled in it for about a month, and in that month I discovered that it was EVERYWHERE. Just in the two apartment complexes by my school there were an unbelievable amount of dealers and users. I was shocked at how much and how many people were using in just that tiny two block area.

I've also noticed that there are almost ZERO anti-pot commercials on TV anymore, they're all focused on meth. (which is the way it should be)

Leading up to the Primaries (elections) many of the candidates vowed to crack down on drugs but specifically meth, and almost all of them mentioned meth in their election commercials.

I used to smoke weed and will always be a stoner at heart; so I don't know much about the meth game, but has meth become that much of an epidemic in this country?

Is anyone elses state becoming over run with meth?

just for fun... the house next door to us has been a rental since I was born (21yrs) Many families have come and gone, but one in particular sure was special. I was about 14 at the time and knew nothing about drugs or drinking so i was oblivious to the fact that there were always different cars coming and going at all times of the day and night. After about a year of the people moving in the house literally has a small explosion and catches on fire. Come to find out not only were they selling crystal out of the house but they were actually cooking right there inside.

And by no means do I live in a bad neighborhood, just a typical middle class area.

here in new zealand it's becoming quite endemic. However, the prices are high, say 700U.S. dollars a gram. Which is good for me as it keeps me off it..The amount of violent crime, real meaningless shit, is going way up due to meth..We are way behind the rest of the world though. Our pop. being little over 4 million, we dont have the user base.Yet..I'm watching the global trends toward meth use. Unfortunately we are catching up.

The meth epidemic is close to covering every region of the states and Canada. Luckily, I live in the last safe haven from this shit, jolly old new england. I'm glad I suppose, even though I do drugs. People who have never enjoyed doing dope, might decide that meth is their scene and etc... I like, most people, have experience with dealers and what not, and I can tally my total offers over a seven year span to 3 times. My crew and I are heavy into opiates (needles incl.), yet we all still feel the right to look down on the "red-neck"s who smoke meth. The moralities which we live by resemble a hall of fun house mirror, but hey, what are you gonna do?

Methamphetamine, stay out of New England, this is literally the last thing we need right now

Meth "epidemic"?? I've lived in New England all my life and meth was always around. It may be more popular now because the internet taught us how cheap and easy it was to make yourself at the same time the quality and availability of coke went way down after the crack "epidemic". But heroin is also much more popular now than in recent years as are prescription drugs and "designer" drugs. Over time, different drugs will rise and fall in popularity. It's a never ending cycle. Declaring an "epidemic" is just another scare tactic by law enforcement who have no good way to convince people not to use recreational drugs.

$700 US a gram WTF???? That's fucked.

It's not quite that expensive. The media seems to think the average street price of meth is $1000 (NZ dollars) a gram, but trust me, it's much less than that. Also, meth is now the second most common illegal drug in New Zealand (after weed), so we definitely have quite a large user base per capita compared to other countries.

arizona is one of the worst states for meth. me and OP both live within a mile from each other.

i love meth. i think everyone should at least try it. just once.

I loved meth... until it turned me into a walking skeleton, made me psychotic (and landed me in a psychiatric hospital against my will), almost got me tazered by the cops, caused me to lose most of my friends, got me several criminal convictions, and generally made me look and feel like shit. :\

I am by no means naive about intoxicants but tweekers coming down was an eye opening sight that hand me rattled . I really didn't know what these spazzes were about .

That stuff needs to stay outlawed as there are ruined families scattered throughout this community that were out of control tweekers .

The children wind up in foster homes and their chances are quite slim so far as making it in this tough ass world .

hows life going now??

Down here in Texas coke and H are more popular... and the law really cracked down on it a few (5) years ago. Which in my opinion is a good thing. Whats worse than a junky trying to steal everything of value? One thats awake 24/7.

There is a huge meth problem in Northern California. In general where there are large concentrations of low income white people there is meth. In some cities in Santa Cruz county everything closes at 10pm because the tweakers come out at night. It's something that is very easily ignored but I'm aware that meth is all around me.

Well in Massachusetts, OCs and Heroin are most definitely the drug of choice. It was easier for me to get OCs in high school, than it was pot. They even did an intervention special on the opoid problem in Massachusetts. I think we might be starting to see a bit of meth now in Western Mass. but that's about it.

And South Dakota? forget it. Meth has ravaged this place.

Meth is anywhere and everywhere in WA. I'm not sure about eastern WA but over in my area it is just as easy to find as weed.
