Is meth really that addictive?

in my head
I did meth for the first time in 2003. A friend introduced me to the needle right away. I probably did it for about three weeks before my husband found out. He freaked out and packed us up and moved away lol.
I hadn't done it since then until last week. Someone brought some ice to my house and I did a couple lines and smoked a little. This past weekend I did some ice with some new "friends". They all seemed super high and I was just ok. They kept redosing but I'm a one time only kinda person. When I do it I can eat (if I wanted to) and I can still sleep.
If I only do it recreationally, every once and a while, could it still be habit forming? I mostly snort although I would like to learn to do a hot rail.
I actually prefer coke but that's hard to get around here.
Sorry for the rambling lol
Oh also, until about two weeks ago I was taking a diet pill a day for about 3 months. Bontril. Could that have affecting my tolerance?

Is meth addicting? YES. anything that gives you pleasure is addicting. meth is considered a pretty hardcore drug. If I were you I'd be careful cause meth can be very addictive to so users

Yes, methamphetamine is addicting but not as much as many other drugs such as heroin or cocaine. It lasts a very long time though, so the urge to redose is higher than it should be based on addictiveness (defined as, "urge to redose") alone.

iv been using meth for 6 years and like u said can eat, aleep ext. Meth is a mentally addictive drug that releases dophamine from the brain. (dophamine) is the chemical that makes you feel happiness and euphoria. unlike heroin which is a physically addictive drugmakes you feel happiness and you phoria. Unlike heroin meth is not physicqly addictive in the way that u wont get physical sick from with drawls but meth will effect your psyche causing psychosis

Thank you SO much for using Addictive correctly, you do not see that often... I really do not want to sound smug, English isn't even my first language but thank you so much... Addicting is a verb, addictive is an adj.. I wish auto-correct would catch that... Now people go ahead and insult me, I'm really not trying to sound smug though

I do enjoy the way it makes me feel. Mostly I'm more focused. I did a line yesterday and the day before. I slept both nights. Today I'm just not interested.
I guess I'm mainly saying that I believe you can be a "responsible" drug user and not necessarily become an addict.

This is what i predict is gonna happen. You will indeed have control for a few months . Your friends will call here and there and you will do meth with them. Soon they will be calling more often because it is that fun. You will buy your own supply just to have. You will use it maybe once a week on the week end. That will turn into fri and saturday. Slowly but surely you will decide to do it on the random week day. Etc etc it will spiral out of control and you will make an excuse to use it daily , doesn't happen to everyone but addiction can creep up so fast.

I was only doing it on Fridays and Saturdays but there are so many times where i have cheat days on week days, i don't plan on using it but the thought pops in quickly and the rest is history.

Meth can easily be just as addictive as heroin or coke, especially when used IV.

Meth is love, meth is life.

In all seriousness, I allowed myself to buy it once, to see what all the fuzz was about. That was quite a long time ago and even now I every now and then crave it. Just don't allow myself to ever buy it again. So yes, it's mentally very addictive...

you let someone inject you with meth and you aren't really sure if its addictive or not??

once you think you can control ur use of a drug like that your on the way to a pretty slippery slope.

everyones different though. i have a friend who has smoked tobacco occasionally for over a year and never really seems to have got hooked.

and some people have a stronger affinity for downers rather than uppers.

i have a 'better safe than sorry' policy for myself. so i really try and avoid using strong opiates at all costs.

I have to admit that I'm really starting to rethink everything. I'm very afraid of addiction. I have a three year old daughter that I love more than life itself. I would never want to do anything that could potentially hurt her. I guess my ride with meth is over.

Idk why you would risk anything at all when you have a daugther...
