Is killing a human being...

You can try not to kill a cockroach and still end up squashing quite a few in your lifetime without meaning to.
You can try not to kill a person and go your whole life without killing a human quite easily.
 
humans have worlds inside of their heads. so do cockroaches, but not in the same way... it's quite different. but hard to put into words.

if this isn't obvious to a person, his sense of empathy is dysfunctional and selfish, despite whatever ideas he might have about why killing the person is the right thing to do.

this includes soldiers given orders. the government is insane, one example is when it issues orders to kill, and humans participate in this collective insanity.

i'm not saying that soldiers are evil, or even that the government is. both are forgiven because one cannot expect a human, or a collective system of humans, to conquer all ignorance.
 
I shot a man in self-defense 5 years ago. Honestly.... I really feel no remorse. I didn't think twice about it. He shot and killed my sibling, so i took his life.
 
life is indeed sacred, a premature death is always saddening. however sometimes it is necessary to kill to preserve the life of others (self defense, food). whats the difference between killing a human, taking the life of an insect, chopping down a tree, pulling a weed, or wiping out a bacteria? its funny how we like to categorize things
 
I'm one of the only big kids on this forum, not all of us have are so juvenile we haveto go through our days with our hands being held being told the universe is made of cotton candy and teddy bears.

sorry i respect life, and youre not intelligent enough to do so. i like havin fun, so i exploit the shortcomings of fools. and son, you one damned fool.

The person who resorts to ad hominem attacks last in philosophy is usually the winner. When someone turns to insults in a argument its because they can't defend their position anymore.

this isnt philosophy class, i resorted to such actions to offend the original poster. its not that its unethical or anything, look at the us political elections

Oh yeah, and to elaborate - for a human, of course, killing a human is gonna be worse than killing a cockroach, because we feel more empathy for a human than we do a cockroach, and the worth is pretty much assigned on a sliding scale as to how closely we relate to them (ie., a social mammal is gonna be have more worth than some insect, particularly if that insect is deemed a pest or harmful).

From the cockroaches perspective, I assume that they would regard cockroach life as the most valuable, with humans as just being some marauding nuisance which should be disrupted whenever possible.
