Is it unsafe to inject Etizolam in a propylene glycol solution?

My pet monkey has obtained a couple of 3ml vials of 5mg etizolam, which is in a solution of 10 percent ethanol and 90 percent Propylene glycol. He wants to try IV'ing a benzo, and since it is already in liquid form, it'd make it easy. However, he is concerned about the safety of injecting this as it contains propylene glycol. He has heard many contradicting reports. Some say it is okay, while others say it does cause harm.
He just wants to experience what an IV benzo feels like once. He understands that his only benifit from IVing would be faster onset because Etizolam has a very high oral bioavailability anyways.

It has to be diluted with an equal volume of water to make it safe for injection.
