Hi all, I've been taking xanax for 2 years, currently I take .5mg 4x a day, up until then I'd only taken .5mg-1mg per day. Tried to stop and had been clean off xanax using a Librium taper. Problem was I became extremely depressed after 7 weeks on the Librium and it also caused weakness and ED (I was at 50-60mg/day). Since being back on xanax I've really noticed the "rollercoaster" effect and think in hindsight it has actually caused more probs in my case, I've read clonaepam is similar but more subtle and long acting so I'm considering asking my doctor to switch me to it. Would it be safe to completely stop using xanax and switch straight over to clonaz? Also, I've read of people experiencing a lot of depression on klon (I never experience depression while on xanax, ever), would it be likely to make me depressed? I think the ED from the Librium was caused by the muscle relaxant properties, which I didn't like as I like to workout, does clonazepam have the same muscle relaxant properties or would it be more similar to xanax?
