Is it safe to mix Beta Blockers with Adderall?

So I have (non severe) high blood pressure, and being treated with a beta blocker. I am perscribed 30mg adderall IR's as well as 50MG Metroprolol. I don't have a "legitimate doctor" anymore, seeing as my last ADD specialized psychiatrist committed "amphetamine induced suicide" (go figure), and since then I no longer have health insurance. My current doctor is a Bupe doc, and a visit is nothing more than a series of 4-5 questions and giving him money. There seems to be nothing wrong with "counteracting" the rise in blood pressure from the amph with the beta blocker to him. With my old Psychiatrist though, he showed noticeable concern in giving me the two. I normally do not take my Metroprolol (i know, shame on me), but I do if I feel/know that my blood pressure and heart rate is noticeably higher than normal. I wanted to know if any of you lovely people could tell me if this is safe? If not, might there be better approaches to this?

Hey, I also have high blood pressure and a high resting rate. Chronic stage 1 hypotension is serious and lowers life expectancy significantly.

Stimulants and beta blockers are contraindicated (not safe.) If your previous doctor had you on both, it may be safe under supervision if you follow your doctor's advice. Definitely do not abuse either if you are taking both! (or alone, for that matter.)

Here's a quote from an anonymous doc" on Erowid:

There is a concern that it could be dangerous to take beta-blockers such as Atenolol or Propranolol with adrenergic stimulants such as amphetamines or ephedrine because they act on (agonize/activate) both alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptors. There are reasons to be concerned about high doses of the combinations of these, but there is little evidence of real world harms caused by combining the two.

An alternative for high blood pressure that is OK with stimulants is Clonidine. It's a antihyperintensive. Interestingly, it's also for treating ADD.

MDPV is not Amphetamine in mechanism nor effects but here's a quote from its wiki page:

It has been found that the use of any beta blockers to treat hypertension in [MDPV overdose] patients can cause an unopposed peripheral alpha-adrenergic effect with a dangerous paradoxical rise in blood pressure.

Alternatively, the antihypertensive drug clonidine can be used to treat symptoms of MDPV intoxication. Clonidine has been used clinically in the treatment of acute stimulant intoxication and withdrawal,[48] and is sometimes prescribed to reduce the side effects of stimulant medications used to treat ADHD. Some users of MDPV have reported a reduction in the severity of symptoms upon treatment with clonidine.[
