Is it safe to inject methadone?

I've done it a few times and was ok, but found out that u need a big vein to inject in. Methadone is thicker than other drugs and I injected it once on the inside
of my arm where the skin is very thin and small veins. After a day or so my arm started getting bigger and bigger at the injection site and had a bubble like infection
on top. I had some antibiotics put back and I just kept taking them til they were gone and putting a hot wash cloth on my arm. I was too scared to go to the
hospital and then my family and everyone else would find out about it! It eventually went away and I been ok since. I got lucky that time, but maybe not the next. I been on methadone for my back for bout 12 yrs now and roxi's for breakthrough pain. I've got sever spinal stenosis with 5 herniated disk and one surgery. I'm in constant pain every day and night and also use a walker. The dr's say my back still not bad enough yet to do another surgery so I just gotta suffer until that time comes. But was still wondering if anyone knew if the methadone was safe to inject. Thank you in advance for ur feedback!!
 
as all others have stated. dont do it. ESP if its the syrup. there is artificial colors, sweeteners, preservatives, and on top of that methaonde has such a huge oral BA it doesnt serve any purpose other than satiating a needle jones. even if you had pure methadone powder or solution for injection (which i dont even think they make) it would still be kinda pointless. if you missed shooting that junk it could create a nasty abcess. please refrain from injecting methadone in the future. also, as far as rush goes, im of the opinion just about anything you inject causes a rush, even that radioactive dye they use in mri's. when they inject it i feel my stomach flip. there is no high or anything, but when i iv anything, i can tell as soon as its taken effect. some thing just have a more intense rugh, heroin, cocaine, meth, dilaudid, i think oxy has a rush as well...in no means like heroin or dillys, but there is a little rush action going on. methadone has barely any rush, other than being able to tell its taken effect, its not like you are going to be comparing it like heroin or something.
 
if its syrup dont do it but if you have the pure liquid before it gets mixed with orange tang then it should be relatively safe. i once got my methadone carries from the pharmacy two weeks in a row and they forgot to mix the juice into the methadone liquid, which was standerdized to 10mg/ml. i went home and used a blow dryer to evaporate them down to 1ml and smashed it. it gives a rush kinda like low dose IV oxycodone, barely worth it. plus instead of lasting for 24hrs i was really dope sick within 18hrs so if its for maintenance then its definitely not worth it.
