Now I tried reading as much as I could find as far as trazodones interactions with stimulants. Seems as though mixing with something like MDMA which has high serotonin activity could be potentially dangerous.
I know that trazodone is NOT an SSRI however, contradictory to what a lot of people for some reason believe, though it IS an antidepressant. However, it is an SARI (selective serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor) so it still has some 5-HT activity, but apparently it's rather minimal.
I also read it has some activity on dopamine, though I'm not certain that's true ?
Anyways, I plugged 60mg of Adderall XR around 8 hours ago. Over that period of time, I have ingested 4mg of Klonopin and 0.5mg of Xanax. Seems my benzo tolerance has grown more than I though, as I don't THINK I'm that intoxicated benzo wise. I can walk about fine and don't feel super heavy.
I'm not to sure if I can get to sleep easily even with all the benzos I've taken. My HR is still elevated near stimulant like levels, though not beating as hard anymore. I really don't want to take more klonopin, I want my script to last and not be half gone from a single nights use.
I'm prescribed 50mg trazodone for occasional insomnia. I've read a few threads saying people took it on adderall comedowns without any problems. I just want to make sure though, as I could only find like 5 threads or so talking about the combo, unfortunately. I know adderall pretty much strictly acts on dopamine, and I've read that trazodone does down-regulate the beta-adrenergic receptors. That would leave me to believe it would stop any of the restlessness I have and knock me out like I want. It's 6:15 AM here, and I want to sleep soon. Very soon. But I don't want to be paranoid about taking the trazodone without first asking if it's completely safe.
