Is it safe to combine clonazepam and alprazolam?

Depends on a few factors, what dosages of clonazepam and alprazolam are you talking about? What is your benzo tolerance? Have you taken any other drugs recently?

is it generically safe to take one 1mg kpin and one 2mg xan? i'd say that 99% of the population, using and non-using alike could safely take those two drugs at the same time and be fine.

now, up the dosages to something outrageous and add some alcohol and you've got yourself a trip to the er. but it wont be because of drug interactions, it will be because you've consumed an unsafe total quantity of a depressant.

f'rinstance, if you took say 100mg of xanax and a .5mg k-pin, chances are good that unless you've got a decent tolerance, you'll be waking up in the hospital - if you wake up. but it won't be cause of that little bit of klonnie that you mixed in there.

ultimately no drug used beyond its express purpose is truely safe. hell, many drugs that are used as prescribed aren't safe.

im a newbie here but being a fan of benzo's this thread jumped out at me so id like to take a stab at answering it. first off,if you've taken both drugs before and have some sort of tolerance,i dont see any danger in mixing the two.ive mixed the two several times but i have an extremely high tolerance of benzos.however even if you DO have a tolerance,i would not suggest popping 10 pills of each. this could be fatal.like i said,i have a high tolerance and 4mgs of xanax and 4mgs of klonopin usually put me where i need to be.please dont use that as a guideline for what YOU take though.only you know your limits and tolerance.but a simple answer to your question would be "yes,with caution"

Yes, it's very safe to combine them, but as everyone else said, what are the doses you plan on taking? If you are tolerant to benzos (like I am) you can easily sorta mix and match them, especially when you're prescription/etc is running low...alprazolam and clonazepam are similar in potency so 1 mg = 1mg pretty much, and IME taking them both is nice if you need immediate panic stopped but then a slightly longer duration of calming down some anxiety.

i dont see why not, just dont go as crazy on the dose as you would if you took just one alone. try to keep it in control.

just to put some real life behind this:

i'm scribed 2.5mg of kpins/day, just had my refill last monday. That's 75mg of kpins. plus a friend brought over 6mgs of xans.

i took these drugs (plus my regular oxys) over the course of three days and two blackouts. still here typing.

not sure why, but i can't seem to control my benzo addiction. have quit meth, quit smoking, quit abusing my opiates.... but the benzos are bad news for me.

so anyway, it is possible to take obscene doses and mixing meds, but holy shit is it unsafe.

well .5mg alprazolam = .5mg clonazepam so dose accordingly to your tolerance, but if you don't mix any other drugs with it should be safe.

personally i prefer a ratio of 2:1 with clonazepam being the larger amount.
