Is it safe to combine 900mg Lyrica + 100mg tramadol + 1mg Xanax?

I know that Lyrica has anticonvulsant properties, but I have heard from multiple bluelighters that doses above 600mg actually *lower* the seizure threshold. I currently have tons of Lyrica and Tramadol, and 25mg xanax.

I am concerned about combining tramadol with high dose lyrica (i have a tolerance so i need at least 750mg lyrica to get anything), but I currently coming off a month of opiate binging (bupe, hydromorphone, morphine, heroin and methadone). I find that lyrica is actually better than benzos for cessation of opiate WDs.

So I want to combine just 100mg of tramadol with maybe 900mg or 1000mg of lyrica and I'm wondering if a high dose of the lyrica would be alright with such a low dose of tram, because I'd rather avoid a seizure. I was thinking that If I added 1mg of xanax to the mix that it would raise the seizure threshold enough to guarantee safety. Is that a reasonable assumption? 900mg + 100mg tram + 1mg xanax daily = seizure-free detox?

Thanks for the input,

Random J

P.S. - I have extensively UTSE'd; Also I'm a seven year veteran lurker of bluelight, so I can't express the debt I owe to you guys for educating me in harm reduction!

Moved this post from this thread: Lyrica and Tramadol safe to take? and this thread: Can i take lyrica with tramadol as you have a similar yet different question and it's best to start your own thread instead of bumping (multiple) inactive threads.

I don't honestly know the answer to your question myself, hopefully someone with the relevant knowledge/experience will see this and reply.

edit: tired and mixed things up, 900mg lyrica is alot, the rest is fine. Don't know lyrica dosages at this level, only ever needed 150mg top. If you can handle the lyrica the rest is fine in my oppinion.

Pregabalin itself is somewhat poor as a monotherapy for epilepsy and seizures and is more effective as an add-on drug, especially the type of seizures that tramadol provoke. At the higher doses you mention, some people report a paradoxical effect in pregabalin, and can actually increase the likelihood of a seizure caused by tramadol.

As long as the alprazolam is in the mix though it will control any potential seizurogenic activity of both drugs. I would advise though that you attempt to lower your pregabalin dosage.

Start with half of whatever doses you intend to take, and look for any signs of jerking, then proceed to take the other half.
