I used to be a very heavy opiate user. I would consume between 30 and 40 30mg Roxies a day, and when I wasn't using pills I would use upwards of 30 bags of heroin a day. I entered rehab in February of this year and completed in September.

Recently I came into a living situation that has put me around the same drugs I used to use, and I am sad to say that I have relapsed. But the strange thing is that I took about 60mg of methadone and felt nothing, just threw up. A few days later I took 8 30mg Roxies, felt nothing, then a few hours later took 7 more. I still felt nothing. What is going on with me?

sounds like you need to stop....

it seems like methadone is still blocking the effects of the roxi's.

wait until the methadone leaves your body completely before dosing again.

could be fake pills too.

(i dont believe this post though)

It is a lot to believe. 30-40 30mg roxicodone pills a day? I hope you are an investment banker, and that you may own a portion of Phizer, lol. I've heard of people doing tons of 30's, but is there really need to do that many in-general? That addiction would be an expensive one to have, given prescription prices, and everything! Also who just randomly does 8 30's? I'd see how one or two hit me at the most, but then throw 7 more on top of that. I hope you aren't too far down the rabbit hole. If so, chin up, tomorrow is another day!

Edit: Also, 30 bags of heroin? This is confusing, do you mean 30 1/10ths or a 30 caps with 3/10's?... Dunno mate, are you Pete Doherty? lol

Ok, so methadone blocks the effects of the roxies? I had no idea, I never took methadone, wasn't sure if it was like suboxone or what.

Not commenting on the dissension, I stated my facts and asked a question, answers are appreciated and extra comments ignored. Thanks.

if you take that much opiates and don't wait for them to all leave your system (or wear off) before dosing again you will just stay on the same high you were on to begin with, if you let it all wear off and then take the opiate of choice you will feel a new high and it will feel as if you're high "again" not just feeding the original one.. that's one thought, and of course the second one is that your tolerance hasnt dropped low enough to feel 8-15 30's.

Methadone doesn't block other opiates in the same way that suboxone does it. It has a blockade effect after taking a dose of around 80mg or higher daily for opiate maintenance. Since that wasn't the case with you, I would agree with HdoubleODeez's explanation that the methadone you took just didn't wear off, and since a lot of people don't get high be re-dosing opiates, this may have been the case with you.

You should really take this as a sign though. Even if you were to get high, your tolerance sky rockets once you start using regularly again, and you may be at the same dose you detoxed off, in a short period of time.

Short answer - No, you can not become immune to opiates unless there is sever brain damage to the receptors that opiates attach to.
I think everyone has made valid points, the methadone probably still has a latch in your system. Wait a while.
Why did you go to rehab? It seems like basically all you did was waste that time there. I dont mean to be a dick dude, and I know relapse can happen. But dont ask questions about why you arnt getting stoned, take it as a sign and leave that shit alone, unless you never wanted to quit in the first place. But you were in rehab for 8months, enough time for your tolerance to drop. Don't OD thats a shit load of meds your taking and you tolerance isnt what it was. Be careful.

Due to long-term tolerance? Sure, especially to certain parts of the experience, such as the euphoria. The euphoria can seem completely unattainable after a while, no matter how much you increase your dosage. I think this facilitates a lot of fatal OD's.

The analgesic effects will still be there, even if there is no euphoria.
