Ok I just case lol first post, I take a bunch of meds daily as prescribed. Clonazepam, prozac, metoprolol, prilosec and vistaril. Now before I started taking them I was able to get an amazing euphoria from poppy pods. but now its just become a dull high no matter the dosage or prep.. Could any of these be ruining my life?

No need for the SWIM thing on this forum:)

That's quite a combo of meds you're taking. I'm not surprised that the effect you get from poppy pods is different from before because all of those medications are affecting your brain and digestive functions in substantial ways.

Could any of these be ruining swims life?

Ruining your life? Or ruining your high? Do you think those meds are improving your life? Would it worth ditching them for the pod high?

I only have experience mixing opiates with clonazepam and prozac, and both of those affected the quality of the pod high for me. CLonaz makes everything more dull in my experience. It adds to the sedation, but reduces the more subtle and enjoyable wellbeing that comes from pods. Prozac also affected the high a bit.

Basically, I think that the worse you feel, the better opiates work. The more intensely you experience pain, the more dramatic the turn around. Opiates are the substance of contrast and are fueled by suffering (just my opinion).

Don't stop taking those meds suddenly just to get the pod high back, though.

Take care. i can empathise with your frustration.

Regarding "swim":

Unlikely or basically NO as benzodiazepines potentiate opiates... Unless u were uncomfortably high

Ur tolerance just went up so u can't really get hi from pods or seeds anymore. Try lowering ur dose for a few weeks u may be a lil sick but u can get hi again so if that's wat ur lookin for...

Either u nEed stronger or more opiates to get the same effects. But if I were u I'd nip it in the bud- opiate addiction fuckin sucks and it only gets worse when u graduate to te more potent options

Eh ive had poppy pod tea twice a day for years, and its honestly helped me deal with wife better than what there giving me. Im fully function ,happilly married so ya in a way its ruining both. Cold turkey on everything other than the pods muhaha

edit lol. Ive had much worse befor this, ive always gotten the same high for the last 2 years. And always the same dose more or less depending on batch

i find valium or lorazepam dampens my high, like i don't notice the subtle euphoria as someone else mentioned. They do however add to the nod quite a bit. i prefer the high without benzos though.

Freudian slip? lol

^LOL, I was thinking that, too.

Cold turkey on everything other than the pods muhaha

noooooooooooooo!! <screams at monitor in slow motion>

I don't know if you were just joking about that (hence the 'muahahaha'), but don't cold turkey off clonaz and/or prozac. It'll be awful. Taper off slowly if you really want to get rid of them.

Good luck with your wife/life;)

A lot of people find benzos to effect the opiate high in a negative way. Someone else actually already mentioned in this thread that they find benzos to damper the opiate high, and I am the same way.

You are correct in that benzos potentiate opiates, but it's more that it just adds to the sedation and makes you nod more, which doesn't translate to euphoria necessarily. A lot of the effects that I like from opiates are dulled by taking benzos. Opiates make feel empathy, but benzos negate that since they make me feel apathy. I really like talking to people while I am on opiates, and helping people out and just doing anything to converse with people, but benzos make me not care about doing any of that stuff.

So nekoabandoned, if that sounds familiar then the clonazepam may be dulling your opiate euphoria. Some of your other meds may be causing this as well, and since you are on a cocktail of meds it is hard to pinpoint the culprit.

Totally agree. Opiates make me feel like there's room in my mind to look at things more objectively, and therefore get a new perspective. Benzos just sweep my anxieties under the rug - where I find them again later, plus the accumulated bulk the benzos have added to those anxieties.

Lol deff ment my life, im typing on my tablet haha. And ill taper on the prozac but I honestly cant stand benzos. Btw is it possible to not be addicted to pods? Some times I go weeks without and I dont go through wds o.o

Well thought I might as well tell you what ended up happening, so I got totally clean off of everything... taper method worked pretty well for me, after it was all done with today after much waiting I finally got to try pods again, boy does it take less to knock me out but still no warm and fuzy feeling :( gunna try to up the dose tomorrow but as of now.... This sucks

SSRIs will ruin codeine's metabolisation, codeine makes up a large percentage of the poppy alkaloids hence the prozac will decrease the euphoria.
Also, poppy tea is full of thebaine (a stimulating opiod), the clonazepam will end the stimulation.

So yes, these meds will dull the high - less codeine, less thebaine.
