Is it possible for the test to show you 3 different substances?

I just tested a brown, speckled (white, off white) Playboy and the reaction was nothing I had seen before. Most pills I test go straight to black (purplish black at best) but this one took about 10 seconds to begin to turn (DXM right?), when it did, it began to turn brown, with traces of green around the outside, and in the middle were a few red flecks.
OBVIOUSLY I am NOT EATING THE PILL, but I am curious about the reaction.
Does it react to only one substance, or is it possible to detect more than one.
I so appreciate your comments...and just for the record, a friend of mine WAS going to snort this pill, instead he waited for me to get home to test it first.
SO IF ANYONE IS PUTTING OFF GETTING A KIT, DON'T PUT IT OFF ANY LONGER. I can't imagine what would've happend if he would have snorted it.

well that pill could be anything but i really doubt it would be anything good... sounds truly evil and i hope you have destroyed it so no one else could come to any harm...
a marquis reagent really only gives an indication of MDxx/speed/2CB etc... everything else is up for conjecture ie you could make a few guesses but ultimately this reaction tells you all you need to know, its a bad pill...

I feel sorry for the people who actually ate this thing. The pill could have contained anything from paracetamol to herbal E or more dangerous substances I don't want to think of.....
Test kits contain Marquis reagent, this is a good reagent to test for mdma, mdea, mda.
If you wanted to test for other substances, a different reagent is more appropriate.
We had a "test kit" from the Dutch police once, same as the DEA uses (or German, French etc police)
It had some 20 reagentia, each reagent for a different substance.
It was used differently, first you use one reagent, if you get a certain color you use another reagent to further determine the substance. If another color than expected occurs, the guy uses another reagent and this way they rule out substances.
A big manual comes with it ;-)
Anyway, use test kits to test for ecstasy like substances, they are not reliable to test for other substances.

I will be getting 200 TLC plates within the next few weeks... I know those can tell several substances within one sample..
I'll let you all know how well they work
