Is it ok to mix a LITTLE alcohol with diazepam?

honestly unless you have some issue with benzos and alcohol or something you should be fine with ONE or TWO beers... I have drank with 2mg xanax and i have been totally fine... i find that heroin itself has way more cns depression than these 2 drugs mixed so just use in MODERATION to be safe and be careful...
good luck and peace

as for your friend, thats his fault because he was a fuckin dumbass who probably deserved it. thats not drug-related death, thats natural selection acting on the stupid.

Umm, I think there's just a little room between "I disagree with you" and "your friend deserved to die" that you might wanna try and find...

I use to frequently mix benzos (rather high doses too) with alcohol, and only had a blackout my first couple times, because I usually took way more than someone with my tolerance at the time should have......But after a few weeks of use I was taking 4-6mg of alprazolam with a 4-pack of brew and was fine, maybe a little stupid, but coherent enough to do normal stuff. But I am a rather big guy and have always needed rather high doses of benzos. If done in moderation and with low doses to start, you should be ok if you are experienced with both drugs.

If you drink a few beers on diazepam you'll most likely feel the beers more than usual, but should be fine. By few beers I mean no more than four. If you start to go to town on the alcohol you'll end up waking up having done many silly things.

Its not just about tolerance. Mixing CNS depressants is dangerous because they interact and potentate the effects of each other on the CNS, Respiratory depression etc.

A lot of people die mixing CNS depressants, harm reduction hello...

No shit Sherlock:\ ... but those of us who take benzos daily havn't all completely given up having a drink from time to time... especially when the title reads in capital letters a "LITTLE" alcohol.... harm reduction, yes... realism...also...

^Yup exactly phatass. I'm percribed diazepam daily and still drink alcohol, and have drank probably way too much alcohol with way too many benzos 1000s of times. But anyway everyone knows there is a risk with combining the two, but on the question of a "LITTLE alcohol with diazepam?". I say yes, a little will be fine.

I don't think it's necessarily the CNS depression between a SMALL amount of benzo's and alcohol that is that harmful, but rather the disinhibition caused by their interaction. I can think of plenty occasions where I started the night with 1mg Xanax and a few beers, then woke up the next morning with no clue what happened and like 6-7 Xanax missing. I just got feeling good and would pop 'just one more' and loose track of how many I was taking or how much I was drinking. Same thing happens to me with ambien. Just be careful and take it slow and you should be able to gauge how it's affecting you. I always sit down, relax and make sure I feel okay and my heart is pumping good before I pass out, or I'll stay awake until I feel like I'm coming down.

what she/he said^^^

i find that the biggest danger, the next day not knowing who?/what?/where?/when?/why?

ive done many silly, regretful things whilst under the influence of alcohol used on its own and also benzos used on there own,but (ime) my worst have been when i have combined the two.

ive lost friends and changed my life situations (for the worse) due to this combination.

just my 2 pence worth, but doing stupid things is more likely to happen than OD'ing, benzo's seem to disinhibit in a different way than alcohol for me,to the point of completely being out of character,as i know is the same for some on alcohol alone.

i know if i were to be shown video footage of myself after using benzos and alcohol i would have only ever done it the once

anyway good luck and take care.

Me and a mate stupidly realised the dangers of a xanax and alcohol combo only last night. We started the night at 6:30 drinking a bottle of buckfast then a pint at a bar along with a few drambuie's. When we started the pint we both took a 1mg xanax each and felt fine, there was one left so we halved it and crushed it into the drambuie. From that moment on the rest of the night was a complete blur, cannot remember anything about being in Glasgow or getting home. Apparently we totally pissed off my Mrs being very loud and out of character and she woke up this morning NOT HAPPY with me and my mate genuinely scared at our lack of memory as to what we had done the night before.

Lesson well learnt IMO.... be careful is what I would say!

I have found mixing alcohol and valium to be quite enjoyable. The valium helps me not get sick when drinking several bottles of wine on an empty stomach. I've spent days and days drinking bottles of wine with valium and smoking many packs of cigs, man it was great.

But it probably isn't a good idea. But like 20mg of valium and a bottle of wine and you are in sweet bliss.

I just think that valium and alcohol is a bit safer than alcohol with xanax or ativan. I always seem to have more control of myself with the valium/alc combo, but usually just blackout with a xanax/alcohol combo.

^^And yup, so true. If it is posible to go from a "small amount of benzos/alcohol" to larger amounts, the most dangerous things, i've found anyway, is massive blackouts, and doing stuff which ya certainly wouldn't usually do, like driving places under the influence and not remembering. IMO that sorta stuff is more likely to usually happen than a benzo/alc OD. But considering all these things have happened to me too many times, then with large amounts anything can happen really.

I will tell you this... You will not die.

I have a ten year addiction to diazepam and even with half a bottle of Vodka does it not kill me.....

Be fucking careful if you introduce the barbs... - they will kill you.
