I was prescribed xanax two months ago for occasional usage when my GAD gets too uncomfortable and I have shit to do. So far, I have not taken it more than twice a week, and I usually take it once every 7 or 8 days. I took 1mg last 5 days ago, but before that it was weekly use of 0.5mg-0.75mg. I also had two beers two days ago. I had a relatively higher amount of caffeine today than I usually do (500mg rather than 200mg) and smoked a lot more cigarettes than usual (half a pack--when I usually will smoke 3-4 cigarettes a month). I had two finals today, I could take them in my room, so I smoked a lot (for me) during the exams. And my GAD was certainly exacerbated by my caffeine use back when I was taking 800mg-1000mg per day--that's when my anxiety actually got bad enough to interfere with things and I sought a therapist and was diagnosed with GAD. So I don't have a good relationship with caffeine, and as a result, I'm getting really anxious on this crash. It's definitely handle-able, but it's interfering with studying for more finals. At how much risk would I be at developing physical withdrawal from taking 0.5mg tonight to continue doing work?
Thanks!
Edit: I also plan on stopping use once this semester is over (In a week).
