Is It Just Me or Does Codeine Suck??

I like codeine, I remember when I got high off 50mgs :) the high & euphoric buzz lasted about 1 hour. I am one of those people that it works on but I am also one of the few people that doesnt like oxycodone.
 
@SameOldShit: I am scriped everything I take, all from the same doc and all for legit reasons. I just like to get a bit of a glow while I'm killing the pain. As for the opiate itch, I know all about that, but this was some mad swelling, not just itch. As for codeines ceiling effect, this has been proven untrue with respect to analgesia, and only partly true for abuse potential. It was thought that codeines effects were caused exclusively my its metabolism to morphine, a process that does have a ceiling effect. We now know, however, that codeine-6-glucuronide rather than morphine is primarily responsible for its effects.
 
Well... I do remember when codeine gave me that exhilarating rush of warm and fuzzy euphoria. Despite the histamine release, it was great back before I got addicted to Heroin and Opanas (now clean, on sub maintenance).

One day, I will be able to love and feel codeine like I used to :)

I hear ya! If you have the right chemistry and low tolerance you will fall in love with it. I understand that many people simply have to high of a tolerance or a different enzyme ratio than I do that makes me love codeine. When you don't increase the dose and set a plateau for dosing it becomes a great and cheap way to experience opiate euphoria.

Here pure codeine is OTC. I loved the first time I did it. I did a full box (20 pills with 15mg codeine camsilate in each pill = 300mg) and stayed on my couch, totally orgasming from the stupefying high. It lasted a good 5 hours. Best 5 hours of my life. But afterwards, it all went downhill. Kids, do not try opiates.
 
I got my wisdom teeth removed and was prescribed T3s (30 mg codeine/300 mg APAP) when i was 15. That was my first time ever doing opiates, and even then I knew those pills fuckin sucked. I had my dad prescribe me vicoden (5/500) 'cause he could tell I was uncomfortable, and then my entire perception of "stoned" changed (the only drug I had done up until that point was weed). I have done codeine only 1 time since about 6 years later, but I had mixed it with some hydros. That was actually a nice, mild opiate cocktail.

As an aside, I ended up holding out on the pain and just taking Motrin, then had a good stash of leftover pills. Oh the days of no tolerance. When 30 5/500 would get you high for a week!
 
780mg? Ugh, my head would've turned into raging sea of histamine fire.

codeine is okay.....i guess. I don't know what to think of my experience.
I did a CWE on 4 t3's and swallowed on an empty stomach.
Within 20mins i could feel the sedating effects, 40mins go by and my eyelids are extremely droopy and I was stumbling on my way to school.
about 1.5hrs after ingesting I threw up (multiple times), and felt horrible / doped up for about 3hrs. Had to sleep through it.
I don't think i'll b trying that again.
 
This thread has been running for a while now and I think we've covered reasons why codeine might not work/differences of opinions about it pretty thoroughly.. as we're more of a quick Q&A forum I'm going to close this now but pm me if you have any queries :)

ps I like codeine :D
