Hey guys. I have a legit prescription for 8mg dilaudid. Just wondering what might happen if say a cop caught me snorting my meds. I was doing a line of HM today in a parking lot and was curious if a cop could legally take some sort of action against me if caught?

legally, he couldn't do much as far as you having it, but he could've have given you a driving while intoxicated, if the keys were in the ignition.. be careful, even though youre prescribed it, you can still get dwi's, and that's from personal experience..

I've had cops actually call my drs, I've had them count my pills, then drop my pills and leave me there to pick them up on the corner in the ghetto cause they got an "emergency call" lmfao!!! I never got arrested or charged even when short on pills after the cop counted so idk what the point if counting them is supposed to do anyways then? I guess if I would've had a huge sum of money on me he would've said it was drug proceeds and arrest me so he could take my cash but luckily that never happened. Idk if ur caught red handed sniffing pills though, they could call ur dr and pharmacy and fuck ur script up for sure... Cops don't care about hippa laws and neither do pharmacies, drs I'm still not too sure what happened with that call but in pretty sure he just got one of the front desk ladies who know me well and they told him that yes I had oxy prescribed and tell him to fuck off lol. My dr office is pretty cool when u get to know everyone :)

Don't get yourself in these situations where you can get in trouble.

If you need to snort, never do it in the car.......pull over at Mcd's & go to the bathroom to snort or snort before entering the car.

As for can the cop do anything to you? Well, cops are known to break the law just to get you in trouble, so asking us what could a cop do is useless in these situations.

Cliffy that honestly is them breaking the law dropping your clean pharmacy grade pills that are handled with extreme care. Hell they shouldn't even count them if I'm not mistaken they do not have that right. That's clear abuse you should have reported to your doctor as they turned your pills into street quality by dropping them (no pun intended). I'm sure it's too late now, but future reference for anyone although based on assumption not fact.

Well, it want go over to well if a cop walks up on you snorting a pill...and they can charge you with trafficking if they count your pills and a large number is missing and you just got the bottle a day or two or something like that, think that's why my dealer spent like 7 years in jail from what I understand, may have been some other stuff also...I always make sure to carry an old bottle with just a few of whatever I have in them for that reason, that way they can't do anything if the bottle is a few months old.

Thanks for all the replies. I do not sell any or take more than prescribed, however I find snorting the HM is a lot more effective for me. I don't normally do this in public, but I was in a different city and needed to dose so I went ahead and snorted one. I was super cautious but still you never know when those assholes can pop up. So it depends on the cop on how he would pursue the situation?

As far as I know it's illegal to not take your medication as directed. But most law officials have better things to do with their time than prosecute people for not taking their antibiotics or whatever. It's also illegal to divert, give away, or sell them.

Medication is supposed to be taken as it's prescribed, or it can lose efficacy or have unusual side effects. For instance if someone is prescribed Ritalin orally and they start snorting it, you can develop dependence and the medication will lose efficacy. Which defeats the whole purpose of medicating in the first place.

If you are prescribed pills to take, don't snort them or double your doses if they don't work as directed. Instead talk to your doctor about maybe getting a combination therapy (NSAID or COX-2 inhibitor + opioid + topical anesthetic (lidocaine) + something like orphenadrine or diphenhydramine maybe?).

Opioids on their own are not as effective as opioids plus other drugs for painkilling. This has been proven with multiple studies. Opioids on their own require high doses that have a high incidence of side effects like constipation, nausea, digestive problems etc.

That League table says 60mg of codeine and 1000mg acetaminophen, or 400mg ibuprofen, is much better as a painkiller than 100mg tramadol, or 60mg codeine alone. The important number is the NNT (number of doses needed to treat). You only need ~2 doses to effectively treat pain with APAP+codeine or ibuprofen, versus 17 doses of codeine...

and these are studies done on thousands of people, not two random junkies.

Anyway since this is legal discussion, and legal discussion isn't allowed on Bluelight, I'm going to close this. Please PM me or another OD moderator if you want this thread re-opened.

It's really up to the cop, whether he has any hard evidence of you snorting drugs, or whether he wants to be an ass.

I'd partly agree, but, I'd say going into random businesses to snort drugs in the bathroom...probably just as sketchy and risky if not even more so then doing so in the comfort of your car.
