is it hard to IV?

Not true. I've been a part-time/casual IVer for 2 years - never been tempted to make it any more frequent...

I'm not saying it isn't possible to remain as a casual IV user but claiming that you never been eaven tempted to take it any further is a bit too much..

I mean you come across like you've never even played with the thought of hitting the needle just a bit more than you usually do.

BL's main goal is harm reduction and we should remember this no matter how badly it feels like giving a certain impression about yourself to the others.

I also get "the feel for steel" and it has caused me immense amounts of pain hanging out for a shot and the damage I've caused in those states of total desperation. That being said I don't want to stigmatize the needle totally cause thats not gonna help ya either. Yes I started IVing when i was 17 and a few of my mates my age also dabbled in it a bit and grew out of it and moved on with their lives no problemo. Then theres the friends that have died, resorted to crime, prostitution (male and female)etc etc etc you've heard it all before the shock the horror the junkie! haha I shouldn't laugh cause it is a reality.

I noticed a recurring theme in this thread that alot of the peoples reason for starting was because they thought it was the the most efficient or economical way of using and also was the reason why I started. Since I been to rehab I realise thinking like that is just justifications to feed your denial to use more.

Im not sure if this was actually the case for me. I was getting dilly 4's on script up to 90 a month (ya i actually have chronic pain but damn i like to get high too much) and was snorting loads of them. As anyone who's familiar with dilaudid knows it's rather short acting so you can do a fair bit in a day plus with snorting your maybe getting 50% of the drug. Not to mention the mucuos membranes in my nose where well fucked from snorting various substances for the past decade so snorting was a chore.

So one day i got myself the right needles and i shot up the next morning right after i woke up. A hour later i was tying off for another shot and had one more before that night was out. Suddenly i went from snorting maybe 50mg's of dilaudid a day to shooting 60mg's or more. Usually more if i had it. Id get sick 6 hours after my last shot so if i planned on being out for any length of time id always take a shot with me.

Saying all that i don't regret it at all. I had a fuckload of a good time despite the dopesickness, the cotton fever i caught twice in one fucking day :X, the very real chance i could have killed myself or end up getting a arm amputated from shooting various morphine pills. I also learned alot and i really wasent dumb enough to think that this wouldnt go bad. I had already been heavily addicted to morphine for years in fact ive had much heavier habits without the needle then with it but i didnt know just how psychologically addictive opiates could be until i started IVing.
