Sexuality is hormones and neurotransmitters. Like consciousness.

The way we are born is irrelevant.

Any gay man that has high testosterone and claims not to be attracted to women (particularly high value, ovulating women) obviously has some psychological baggage that is influencing his sexuality.

The only men that I think are truly gay are ones with high estrogen levels and low testosterone levels.

Anyone who thinks that upbringing, environment, etc. don't influence sexuality is delusional.

Of course genes have an effect.

Do you even understand what it means to be a gay man?

It means that you're not sexually attracted to women at all and it does not matter if they are ovulating or not, you're not going to be sexually attracted to them or any woman at all. These men are gay/homosexual, not bisexual like you seem to think that they are.

I have gay male friends and some of them have had sex with women but in some cases they did this before they knew they were gay as a teenager or young adult, or they thought that by having sex with women that it would somehow make them "straight".

I know gay men who had been married to women for decades and they later came out as being gay after decades of pretending to be "straight" and sleeping with a woman.

My gay male friends have told me how even though in some cases they had sex with women they've never had any sexual attraction or any sort of lust for any woman at all.

PLENTY of gay men have very high testosterone levels and trust me they are not sexually attracted to women at all.

Just because a man is gay that does not mean that he hates women or has psychological issues with or about women. He's just not sexually attracted to women.

People who are bisexual can have a sexuality that's "fluid" or their sexual attractions/preferences may change, people who are gay/lesbian, or straight/hetero do not.

And sexuality is influenced heavily by environmental factors.
 
I have debated with people who believe sexuality is genetically determined before and they answer the prison question, and the Greek question, with 'they're not really gay, they just replace men with women, in their mind the man is just a woman'.

Someone who is attracted to women their entire life, someone who never even thinks about men, could go to prison on a life sentence and all of a sudden they are all about men.

Sexuality is fluid.

like rant said, this should be really simple. let me help. are you attracted to men? how about men with light or dark hair? tall or short? muscular or thin? confident or shy?

okay, now tell me why. i bet your answer is something like, "i don't know why, i just AM." attraction is the most basic biological innate desire; it just IS.

further your assertion that a ten year wouldn't identify as gay is completely untrue; maybe they wouldn't know the terminology just as you at ten didn't identify as "straight" but i'd bet they definitely feel something's different in comparison to other children. i've witnessed this with my very own eyes with a family friend's son - even at a prepubescent age, he was very, obviously gay or suffering with gender identity issues.

in addition, many different species of animals engage in same-sex pair bonding which should allow you to take human emotions and the ability to choose out of the equation to come to the obvious conclusion that individuals are born either straight or gay or somewhere in between.

i mean really, how much more proof do you need? 8)

My sexuality is not fluid and never has been.

I've had crushes on the male sex since I was a kid. I've only ever had sexual and romantic attraction to men. I don't care if people call me a gay man or homosexual since that's what I am.

Being a gay man was not a choice for me at all. I was born this way.

I've tripped a lot in the decades before you were born.

I've never been sexually attracted to any woman at all and it's not going to happen in this lifetime for me.

There's nothing wrong with being a bisexual man but I'm not bisexual I'm a gay man.

I've seen women naked in porn and they do absolutely nothing for me to turn me on at all. When I was a teenager I did make out with a woman but while she was majorly turned on by this and turned on by me I was not getting aroused or turned on by her or from kissing her at all. It is not this way with men. With men I'll get very horny and aroused by kissing them and I'll actually get an erection and I'll want to have sex with the man or men who I'm kissing.

I do not get disgusted by the naked female body but I have other gay male friends who have told me how they had sex with women and the entire experience made them want to vomit and how for them seeing women naked is disgusting to them. I have a longtime gay male friend who told me how when women flirt with him he goes into panic attacks.

I've never had any sex at all with a woman and quite frankly it's not something that I ever want to do. I'm fine with being friends with a woman and we just remain friends. I've had some women flirt with me and try to seduce me but I have told them how it's useless since I'm gay.

Bisexuality and homosexuality in ancient Green and Roman times was very different than what it's like today. In these ancient cultures and societies heterosexuality was still the default and just because you were a man that did not mean that it was impossible for you to be straight or what we'd call heterosexual. Not every man in these ancient civilizations had sex with men and it was not expected for them to.
 
No it is not a choice. There is no such thing as gay or straight. There is a spectrum of sexuality try writing about that in your paper.

If that's not a sign of serious psychological problems, I don't know what is.

There is nothing disgusting about a body. I inserted a suppository medicine into the anus of my friends elderly mentally ill mother and didn't vomit. I wasn't turned on sexually of course, but I didn't vomit.

If someone is disgusted by a naked body, male or female, they need therapy.

No no no....It's not just penguins. All primates and even doggs and many other species engage in homosexual behavior not only for sexual gratification but also for food and protection. Googl homosexuality in animals for more info. Try not to become aroused though LOL:\
 
I am pretty sure the vast majority are born straight or gay. I started having fantasies about women at the age of 6 (something along the line of me being G.I. Joe coming back for the war and marrying th prettiest girl in the first grade). I remember having friends at the age of 6 or 7 who did seem to display attraction to males one was a good friend who stayed in the closet until he was in his mid 20's.

I think women kind of get a "pass" if they are straight or bi and can claim "experimenting" without anyong calling foul.

How does this show that they have psychological problems?

It's like how hetero men will say how a man's cock/ass and body are disgusting and nobody is saying that hetero men who say this or react this way to the male body have psychological issues.

FYI I never said that most gay men react that way to naked women but we do not get turned on by women. I know some gay men who told me how when they had sex with women or saw them in porn it was gross to them like scat or sex with shit is to mostly everyone.

I have a gay male friend who has had sex with at least 2 women but he's been with a lot more men and he told me how he did not get aroused or turned on by women but how the entire experience just showed him all of the reasons just why he is attracted to men and how sex with a woman to him was completely weird and different from anything he'd ever done.

I have bisexual male friends that have told me how to them sex with both men and women is basically the same and even the genitals can be alike in many ways.

I agree that there's a spectrum of sexuality that ranges from being hetero/straight-bisexual-gay/lesbian but this does not mean that mostly everyone is bisexual or that it's impossible for someone to be hetero or gay/lesbian.

Some of the posts on this topic remind me of the whole "ex" gay BS that some churches try to do where they try to convince gay men that they can be turned on by women if they open their mind and explore. Or what therapists in the 60s 70s did when it was thought that being anything other than hetero was a choice or a mental illness. 8) I'm sure there are therapists out there who have their own agendas who still believe that even though it was removed from the DSM decades ago.

Let me go on the record and say that these guys are fucked up. If they look at the statue by Michaelangelo and say it's 'disgusting' then they are perverted themselves.

Many animals display bisexual behavior. Not pair bonding, and certainly not exclusive homosexual behavior. (Except for one pair of penguins...in a zoo.)
