Is growing shrooms illegal?

Just wondering if growing shrooms is illegal since there are so many videos of it on youtube.

I'm in Florida. And nvm I just found this in erowid's.

Psilocybin mushrooms are illegal in every state in the United States except Florida (see below).

Florida stands out because of a decision in 1978 in Fiske v Florida by the Florida Supreme Court which ruled that wild-picked psilocybin mushrooms could not be legally considered "containers" of psilocybin and thus would have to be specifically listed in Florida law by the legislature if they meant to make them illegal. Since the Florida legislature has not chosen to change the laws since then, the possession of wild Psilocybin mushrooms is presumptively not punishable under state law. This does not mean police won't arrest people for possession of even wild mushrooms, but this has been used as a successful defense against such charges.

This doesn't surprise me considering they haven't fixed the pill mills yet, and considering the major step backwards they have made for the pill mills.

Maybe seniors like their shrooms, too?

interesting!! i have seen so many links on spore kits etc, but i was wondering is there anyways you can cultivate mushrooms without these kits, whether it be legal or illegal... can i some how use spores from previous pickings etc?? might sound dumb, but it is a serious question

to the best of my knowledge, it is illegal to grow mushrooms in a LOT of countries. dont know the exact law in the states, but i think they are pretty illegal to posses as well as grow. If i remember correctly, it is illegal to have any psylocin containing plant part (meaning anything but the spores). Thats why you can still buy spores and even kits, because having them around only makes it possible to be grown, but they themselves do not have the substance.

And yes, you can use the spores from one picking to grow the next. Each flush produces a lot of spores that are viable. You just have to be careful in the way you harvest them and germinate them to avoid contamination.

But keep in mind that growing them is illegal.

Its fairly easy to grow them even without a kit from the internet just google it or go to shroomery or something read for about half an hour and youll know the basics

yeah I found a bunch of great videos and read a couple of forums. It's pretty easy you just need to be cautious of contamination and have patience. I got all the supplies I need today now i just need spores =]

If you're gonna grow indoors, use the pf tek (:

I'm pretty sure mushrooms themselves aren't illegal, it's the pilocybin & psilocin contained inside that is. It's a very muddled law. Spores are very much illegal, however, in Cali, Georgia, and Idaho. Fresh mushrooms I believe are legal in parts of Europe.

Great thing about growin' shrooms is there's no smell, so really it's much less risk involved than say, marijuana. PF tek is cool and all, but if you really want any substantial kind of yield go with monotubs. Equal amount if not less effort, 1000x more yield.

I just looked at a yield from someone who used the monotubs tek and holy shit that yield is huge!

^^^ nice, very impressive :)

anyone wana share what tools someone would need to remove spores from freshly picked mushrooms??

AFAIK here in Florida you will definitely be prosecuted for schedule 1 possession of dry mushrooms as they are obviously for human consumption. It gets a little foggy in reguard to fresh ones, but I would just be safe and consider growing them to be highly illegal. It's still federally forbidden, remember. But I've grown them and will again some day :)

Screw the goverment! Eat/grow magic mushrooms!

But be smart about it ;)

you need a mushroom freshly picked with an open cap. take a razor blade and cut the stem off flush with the bottom of the cap. put the cap face down on some clean foil. place a glass over the cap so it's airtight. wait 24 hours. voila, you have a spore print!

of course there's a whole other set of things for getting the print off the foil into a syringe
