I was just wondering if taking a couple of Codral daytime pills (Paracetamol 500mg, Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 30mg, Codeine phosphate 6mg) plus some Robotussin (not sure on dosage yet) would be a bad idea. Is this being incredibly ghetto and stupid? The Codral was recommended to me by a friend who claimed taking 3 or 4 induces some sort of a high. I've Robo-tripped before and was wondering if mixing this stuff would be okay.
Answers before tonight would be muchly muchly appreciated! thanks :D

Whatever you do, don't take more than the recomended dose of parecetamol. Even if you are just using it to get rid of a headache you can seriously fuck up your liver if you take too much. And too much can be a suprisingly little amount. Trust what it says on the side of the packet.
Combining cold and flu tablets with robotussin to get high is ghetto and stupid, but that's never stopped anyone. If you've robo-tripped before then you know what it does; adding pseudo-ephedrin to it is not a good idea.
All this said I have taken this mixture before but only when I was actually sick, and only to ward of side effects long enuf to get thru a workday. Doing this for fun? You'd have to be insane.

Some Robitussin contains DXM, its what gets you off chops (DM and DX formulas only I think), before you go mixing it with anything go to the vaults of erowid (www.erowid.org) and do a search on DXM it will tell you the ins and outs of what can have with it and what is dangerous. I certainly would recommend getting off chops on Tussin at all let alone mixing it with Pseudoephedrine , Codeine, and Paracetamol. Id hate to be your guts and certainly not your liver. Also as already noted Paracetamol in a high dosage can really damage your liver, the warnings on the label are there for good reason.

Yeah it is ghetto and stupid. I have in the past tried this and I can assure you that the high you get from straight DXM containing syrup is almost the same as this one. The only difference I found was that I was suffering from the shakes fairly badly through the whole experience and I heated up like a mofo.
When under the influence of DXM your body's ability to lower its core temperature becomes rather crap. Hence mixing any sort of stimulant with it is pretty stupid. I would also avoid mixing 2 downers (codine and DXM). And finally I would never take more than the recomended dose of paracetamol.
As the others have said, it just isnt worth it.

I do NOT recommend you take these drugs together in large doses:
COLDRAL daytime/nightime tablets
Adverse effects:
Drowsiness, CNS stimulation; palpations, flushing, constipation GI upset.
Prolonged use:
hypertension, hyperthyroidism (trust me u don't want that!!), coronary artery disease, bladder dysfunction
ROBITUSSIN
adverse effects:
CNS disturbances, tachycardia, GI upset, rash
Prolonged use:
hpertension, hyperthyroidism, MAOIs
I heard that theres a chemical in Coldral now that cancels out the speediness of pseudoephedrine. I could be wrong, i know they have done this years ago to Sudafed cos people where getting high off it.
Just cos you can get drugs over the counter, doesn't mean that they're gunna be safe!!

Yeh If your gunna do DXM just chug the syrup Only Robitussin DX as it only conatins DXM(15mg I think) as it's active ingredients. Don't use robitussin Dm if you can get away with it as it conatins Guaifenesin and a few other nastys which will make you sick or should I say sicker after chuging all that syrup :)
Mixing anything else in otc medicines with dxm will either make you sick or cause health problems
And I agree with what has been said it's hardly worth it make you feel like shit.

yeh i was about to say only use DX....
then again tussin' made me feel pretty ill - i yakt both times, once i was drunk though - so i blame that.
but yeh i wouldnt mix them, i cant see why u'd want to put codral in ur system? unless its to make the robotussin' sit better, which it might.

oki thanks for the input guys, i decided not to mix the two and ended up just taking four of the Codral,,, I wanted to see for myself whether it would do anything. Verdict: it didn't. (i know you could all have told me that beforehand, but i wanted to knooowwww!) Waste of money... should have just gone with the Robo, but whatever.

Lucky you only took 4 thats 2000mg paracetamol !!! If you had taken any more you would have felt your liver giving up the gost and you heading for the hospital. Trust me it happens I have seen it a few times before from a only slightly higher dose than you took.

Personally, I find pseudoephedrine + DXM to be a dirtier, grinding speedy DXM trip, with lots of flushing and feelings of being uncomfortably warm. The problem with DXM is that often even when your body temperature is quite hot, you are unaware of it. Definitely recommend well ventilated cool environment for DXM with pseudoephedrine, if you must take them together. Hydration will help you to avoid a nasty hangover.
Paracetamol is bad for your liver, but you can take up to 8 panadol equivalent (8 x 500mg = 4,000mg) safely over the course of a day, in 6 hourly increments of 1000mg. It's not good to keep this up for too many days at a time though, if pain persists... see your Doctor!
Pharmaceutical drugs are hardly ghetto and stupid, they're quality assured and always a known dosage. Using them inappropriately... may be ghetto and stupid.

If you want to combine Pseudoephedrine & DXM then I would recommend doing it WITHOUT the Paracetamol, because it's going to hammer your liver enough without causing further damage to it because of Paracetamol.
Be sure that you get a DXM syrup that does NOT have a lot of sorbitol as the sweetener, simply because this WILL give you stomach upsets and diahrroea.
