Ultimately everything always boils down to semantics, are we all "addicted" to food? I guess you could say we are if you are loose with your definition of addiction. I think it has more to do with what the Buddha called dukkha (desire, craving, suffering, dissatisfaction) you could use drugs as mere tools and while you could still get physically addicted if you had the right mind set you would never be mentally addicted. I believe this to be possible for an enlightened person.
Is that like Red Bull? What are you talking about?
You can buy spring water, of varying quality, pretty much anywhere in the world... if you have the money.
I doubt very much that there's anyone on this forum who has only tasted tap water.
Depending on where you live, there's absolutely nothing wrong with tap water.
I've lived in different countries, where I've tried to only drink bottle water.
But here, in Australia, the water is fine.
I've unfiltered injected tap water many hundreds of times.
This is an excellent forum.
One habit or addiction that really yanks on my chain is the habitual liar. One fellow in particular I know never stops and tells some tails that I think he believes to be true but they are so far fetched and elaborate that he's constantly caught in them but no one says anything because he's a big boy and conflicts with him are to be avoided. I want to tell a tale but am afraid he might out of pure coincidence read this. I'm sure others have met this type of personality and I would really like to find a way to approach him on the subject. A while back I made a comment to others at a party about how there was a law to be put in place about pretending to be in the military and he over heard me and stopped his stories about his career that most knew were false. Boy I hope he never see's this and puts two and two together. The whoppers are really something else though.
not too long ago i developed a habit of biting the inside of my cheeks... i would get blisters inside my cheeks but i would still continue...
trying to fall asleep was the hardest part about it... during the night i couldnt stop and it would drive me crazy...
about a week and a half ago i decided to stop... it was difficult at first but now its better... i still feel like doing it though... today i did it just once...
im addicted to soda now and plan to stop tomorrow... soda has always been a problem in my life and iv tried to quit a few times already... hopefully this time goes well![]()
but the op and previous responses make me think that even if i kick the soda thing i will just move on to something else... oh well lol
Most of what is sold as spring water is just purified tap water.
I can't really stand tap water any more because of the strong chemical taste. They're adding far too much chlorine and other chemicals to sterilise it. For months I've only been drinking juice as I can't bare the taste.
The purest water is that which comes up through vegetables and fruits as that has been naturally purified.
Sure, fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, etc., but I'm pretty sure polluted water doesn't get filtered/ purified through the stem.
