Is doxepin more relaxing than trazodone?

Trazodone isn't really relaxing IMO, more just sedating.. it's an antidepressant but a pretty weak one and is sometimes prescribed for sedation/insomnia. Doxepin is another antidepressant (tricyclic and SNRI) with sedative properties and is also sometimes prescribed as a sleep aid. I don't know which one is more sedating. If you are wanting to be prescribed one of these then I would discuss it with your doctor..

In my experience Doxepin knocks me the fuck out to some hardcore sleep. Trazodone makes me feel like crap. Keep in mind everyone is different so YMMV

yah sorry i was fucked up last night, I was just wandering if doxepin would be more of a relaxful sleep than trazodone because i always feel yucky on trazodone

i cant calm down on trazodone, it eventually getsw me to sleep but it doesnt relax me

I really don't know if doxepin will work better for you or not - are you prescribed the trazodone? If so I would speak to your doctor about trying an alternative.
