Heroin Is death certain from 2g heroin IM?

Hi! I've been visiting this forum often and I value it very much, just first time posting.

2g common purity heroin. No opioid tolerance. Administered intramusculary in a 5ml solution.

I have done research and I know the LD50 is somewhere around 350mg for non-addicts. But there is a lot of conflicting information (some sites mention 1800mg and that is IV, not IM). Also I've come across the opinion that heroin is not that fatal at all (it is only in combination with other CNS depressants).

I just want to hear a solid answer from someone who is experienced. My deepest Thanks

Sounds like you're asking advice in how to commit suicide...

If you take an overdose of opiates, its possible that you don't die but get a permanent brain damage from hypoxia and end up being disabled for the rest of your life.

Smart man. The OP would be well advised to google "failed suicide" and to visit a nursing home for the severely impaired. Deliberate overdose by opioids alone rarely works, but the nursing homes are full of young people who will need to get their asses wiped by angry orderlies for the rest of their miserable lives because of a temporary reduction of oxygen to the brain thanks to deliberate or accidental overdose of drugs.

FWIW as an old man: Life is very short as it is and whizzes by for most people once they become adults. It's hard as hell in general but for most people it gets much easier to cope as they mature. Whatever leads you to ask your question about overdose will almost certainly get better but the consequences of fucking up will result in far far more suffering than you can imagine now.

Seriously - go visit at a medicaid nursing home and watch some young dude who can't speak anymore projectile vomit through the vent tube he needs to breathe and then carefully consider what you are planning.

I'm worried about the risks you mention. Exactly because of this I'm asking if 2g is enough to be a certain death. I know there are knowledgeable people here and I will be very grateful for an answer.

It definitely is not a guaranteed death and IM will only reduce the chances of fatal overdose. Drug suicides go wrong very frequently - even with much more trustworthy death drug combinations such as discussed in the Right to Die literature.

Again - they will probably not let you discuss this here but if you google around you will find vast amounts of information on how tricky it actually is to kill yourself successfully - particularly with drugs. You will also find countless horror stories of the aftermaths of failed attempts as well as countless stories of people who are very happy they failed/never tried because the issues that drove them to attempt suicide resolved.

Trust me - if you're young and not already severely disabled life will only get better. If suicide is really an option why not instead spin the wheel and take a few big life changing chances first? Run away and start fresh....you can always attempt suicide at a later date (and as I say, before you know it it will be time to go naturally anyway...). I was were you are many times when young and I'm very happy I didn't do it and have had the years since. Life DOES suck but it has awesome moments and they get easier to savor once you get older and out in the world. Let the "old Eudaimonia" die and let a new "Eudaimonia" explore a bit more of our weird world for awhile. I'll bet you a lot if you do you'll look back at today in a few years and be glad you stuck around.
