Is Cannabis Truly a Psychedelic?

So many people in my country are addicted to weed now. I talked with a number of people that "have" to use every day and they say that they don't feel normal without it. They say they're anxious and miserable and depressed without it. I think they're anxious and miserable because withdrawing from the drug makes them anxious and miserable.
 
This push-button misery spectacle just feels trivial and pointless, i sounds as if a user's mindset is of no consequence, starting with circumstances relative to the initiation.

Cannabis is no LSD and those individuals who think that it is, well, they should simply stay away to begin with. The mindset is something to be acquired, learned and developed similar to music playing or bicycle riding. Yet there are persons who got no talent for it and worse: who only care for systematic abuse and later seem surprized if that goes wrong, prompt to blame it all on such idealized push-button...
 
If you take enough it is :ROFLMAO: (although if you take enough of anything you'll probably hallucinate). Nothing like the experience you get from classical psychedelics though.

This is a very interesting topic. I remember reading on Erowid that many people consider cannabis to be a mild psychedelic.

Someone just created this thread on The Shroomery: Cannabis seems to always reach a dark headspace if the dose is high, but for classical psychedelics this is not the case

One of the last people I vaped with remarked, "you don't know if it's the kind of weed that's gonna make you wanna head for the hills…"


About 20 minutes later I started to feel horrible, my neck felt like it was gonna dislocate from my head, I felt horrible constipated... I was sure they were perceptual but they still freaked me out. To calm myself down I tucked up in bed and opened a book... problem: It was Gray's Anatomy. I leafed through it, and all of a sudden I got this feeling, it was like a punch to the face.

I lost my humanity.

I felt like an animal, an anatomical mess of systems, trying to suck what it can out of the Earth to accomplish the nothing of it's existance. I lost my soul, so to speak. This thought CRUSHED ME. With each anatomical illustration I assessed I felt more disgusted with myself, felt like I had lost my human ego, like I was an animal. I spent hours thinking about life, about God, about purpose, for the first time in a LONG time I could feel tears roll down my face, almost like I had faced a horrible truth that was not meant to be faced, as though I had broken through a mental fail safe meant to keep me sane. I could feel a horrible stress, a ball in my gut, and lump in my throat, an emotional restlessness, but there was nothing I could do, I attempted to reaffirm my Christian faith but to no avail.

Wow. Weed is in no way like LSD. It's also way more expensive. I'd like to meet a person who spends hundreds of dollars a month on acid.
 
No push-button for me, but i guess if one has been trained with nothing but extremes in mind then don't be surprized if it turns into a freak show.
 
I have never used any classical psychedelics. In fact, I have never used any drug 'harder' than weed. But the things I have experienced while using it have totally altered my understanding of life in ways sometimes reported by users of psychedelics. On some occasions I have entered a state of absolute clarity of understanding, not intellectually but spiritually, that can never be described adequately in words. These are unquestionably the most profound experiences I have encountered as a human being in this life, which is both a blessing and a curse. But deep down, I think I know that the one who feels blessed or cursed isn't really real, and none of this is really real, compared to the realness of what cannabis has showed me about myself.
 
THC is certainly psychedelic, but 11-Hydroxy THC is a million times more psychedelic. I was doing once per week Spravato and took about 500mg of oil ( I was fucking dumb as shit ) I ended up calling the ambulance because of auditory hallucinations. It was really bad. When I got home, I had the geometric patterns, more clear than I had ever had them in my life. Yah my doctor hearing about this is what got me fucked on Spravato. It's great but way too hard to get if you like to use other substances especially benzos

Not to discount your experience but you combined the shit with an anti-depressant.

Anti-depressant's do wild shit, man. I just did a quick cursory search of Spravato but dude, people need to be very careful about recreational drug use when they're on mood-altering and personality-stabilizing medication.

The big one was always MAOI's. That was like 20 years ago, fuck if i know how that therapy has changed over the years.

But basically if you're taking medicine for an emotional or personality disorder, all bets are off if you decide to ingest a recreational psychedelic. It's not a guarantee for a bad time, but there's a good chance things will go bad and you won't be in the proper mindset to correct the course.
 
Uh can one of you weed dorks explain what 11-Hydroxy THC and why I should or shouldn't be doing fatass dab rips off my dab humidifier?

Some cannabis terpenes activate the same receptors as psychedelics. Some directly, others indirectly.
Terpinolene activates one of the main psychedelic receptors called 5-HT2A.
Other terpenes activate opioid, dopamine, adrenergic and glutamate receptors which all contribute to psychedelic effects.

Also the CB1 receptor is partnered with 5-HT2A, so activating CB1 also actviates 5-HT2A.

From what i've read, some of the earlier landrace-type strains (genuine pure sativas) were pure stimulants with mental clarity, zero cloudiness or sedation.
One of the key reasons is they had a moderate THC content of ~12-20%. Higher THC levels tend to cause mental fog or other issues that undermine the overall experience.

I think they called it esketamine because it's (S)-ketamine thats used. As opposed to (R)-ketamine. S and R is a bit like your left and right hand.

Marijuana causes psychosis in me. Of course having schizophrenia probably contributes to the psychosis. I don’t understand why marijuana affects me so negatively while other people diagnosed with schizophrenia have no ill effects whatsoever. When I take THC I become comatose like some sort of zombie, I can’t think, I can’t move, I am the epiphany of live dead.
 
the experience i had 2 days ago completely switched my opinion on if its a phsychidelic like bro 70 mg rso feels like salvia but waay weaker like your obviously not breaking through on weed but if you just sit there while high enough its like a phsychidelic but less mentally and visually intense
