Is buying drugs immoral?

Where does our money go? Who are we funding?

Is buying drugs immoral because of the possibility of who we are ultimately funding?

No "Blah blah blah we should legalize so this won't happen man!" crap. That's not the world we live in.

I'm heavily inclined to think that buying certain drugs is completely immoral because the money may be funding evil sources, such as socialist groups and islamic terrorists.

I'd just like to know if anyone knows exactly who is making money off the illegal drug trade, and does that impact your drug use? If the money is going somewhere it shouldn't, I may consider quitting. I've gone too long simply blanking that fact out. I don't mind paying for drug gangs to kill each other, but I do find if this is going to a questionable Mosque in Pakistan or to socialist Pro-Chavez groups in Venezuela.
 
Why?

Pharmaceutical companies don't kill minorities by assaulting them with "heat", otherwise known as, "blazers", or more commonly a "piece".

I would feel worse funding scumbag bottom dwellers who are leeches on society. Don't even state they offer a valued service, because they don't.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if someone did say that.

Ive often wondered if im supporting terrorism by buying drugs but I realise that its just stupid propaganda.

Im too lazy to write a whole big post atm but no, buying drugs is not an immoral act itself though if you bought heroin off a terrorist that is obviously not right.

That's exactly the point though. You are funding violent criminal organizations because they provide an illegal product.

Really, how many drugs are made in places with "dangerous regimes"?
Heroin and Cocaine would be the only ones i could think of straight out.

I'm guessing you are american. Who are you to decide which regimes are dangerous and wrong. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.
The US government (and others, but the US is the main one) want people to associate islam with terrorism, communism and socialism (and any non-democratic ruling) with evil. Not because it makes the world a better place, but so they meet less resistance when invading (they call it "liberating) those countries.
Why shouldnt Iran be able to have nuclear arms? The US does, oh wait, they'll only use them for "good". "Good" for the US is gonna sound like "evil" for whoever their aimed at. So when someone hostile to the US has nukes, they shit themselves and demand they give them up, while maintaining their nuclear arsenal.

About as immoral as buying products made in third world countries by little children.

So yeah, it can be, depending on which drugs you use, where they come from and where the money goes.

Yes, however this still doesn't change the fact that street drugs are immorally bought.

We're allowed to have nuclear weapons because we've taken initiative and have say in such a matter. Too bad if you don't like it. This is how it is. The world is not supposed to be a comfort zone when it comes to diplomacy related issues.

We control things. We deserve it. If it was meant to be any other way, then it would be as such.

That's why. Who cares if it's immoral -- we have control, and that's how it is.

Also, let's not forget that the pharmaceutical companies are selling the (ACCEPTED MEDICALLY) drugs for the main purpose of treating illness/symptom. It's a tad different from a street dealer who is "banking g's" , "pimpin hos" and generally "having shit on lock, homie" because he's catering to a weakness.

Oh, and don't give me that bullshit about your weed dealer on par morally with pharmaceutical companies. I just thought I'd save whomever would post it the embarassment--- I am near certain atleast one dumbass would refer to their dealer as a 'natural' pharmacist.

How exactly do you deserve nuclear weapons? You're allowed them because nobody can really stop you.

That's like saying a bully is allowed my bike because he can take it and I can't do a thing about it.

immoral or not i'm still going to purchase and take them, though i'd take them for free to ;)

isn't everyone? cause thats the way were forced to do it through shady dealers or shady companies? unless you synth \grow yourself.

it all depends on your own personal judgment on the morality of everything and how much you care about that. Personally I'm going to end up dead and after that the morality of the times I bought drugs wont of mattered.

Stealing drugs is immoral LOL..

Wow, you're really using some higher-level logic there 8).

Marijuana is America's #1 cash crop. Today agriculture is dominated by large corporations (like Cargill) and I'd like think I'm doing my part to help the little guy farmer =D.
 
I think selling drugs is more immoral, but that seems to be for another thread.

Hmm, as far as buying, never had a problem with it. I've mainly purchased marijuana over the years and I doubt much of it has ever been out of the US border. Only thing I can say for sure is some came from Canada at one point.


With H, I think of it the same way as I do about eating meat. If I didn't eat meat, the meat would still be on the shelf in the supermarket and it would either get thrown out or someone else will eat it. I'd rather eat it myself than have it get thrown out and wasted.

If I did stop eating meat, I don't consume enough for the supermarket to have to reduce their purchasing or cut back on their supply. Essentially, as far as animals getting killed or drugs being sold and consumed, I really don't do dick.


How much would a terrorist organization get from 1 $10 bag sold on the streets in the US? How many times has it been cut up and repackaged since arriving? I would bet for ever $10 spent on heroin, a terrorist cell would end up getting less than 1% of that total money (when put comparatively to the weight of H in the bag).
