From what I've read, transdermal bupe is actually a better painkiller than the strong opiates like morphine and oxy. It even tests pretty evenly with fentanyl in blind studies. I've read that bupe is much less constipating, and even leaves daily users with a normal libido. It has been found to not have the immune system suppression of morph and fent. Anyone have direct experience with these means of analgesia? Harm reduction is so important for people who will be taking a drug daily forever. ;)

IME & IMO, Morphine blows Oxycodone out of the water when it comes to pain relief & how long the relief lasts.

I've never tried bupe tho so I can't speak of it, but have tried Methadone & it works longer than Morphine for pain relief, but you don't want a Methadone habit.

I would stick to Morphine & Oxy or Vicodin for breakthrough pain.

^Thanks! How I ended up going down the bupe path was because I could tell my prescribing doc and my pain doc were only going to be offering a minimal amount of MS Contin (15mgX3)which doesn't cut it for me. So I asked the pain guy about suboxone for pain. I told him I had an appt w/ a sub doc and he said he'd just hook me up with bupe patches, so I am hoping they can get my insurance to accept this expensive med and I will be virtually pain free :) So a methadone habit sucks huh? If they would give me mscontin 60's for BTP I would shut up ;)
