Is benadryl euphoric?

At high doses, obviously. I've heard mixed things about it, like with any drug pretty much.

Benadryl is not robitussin nor is it a cough syrup. it's an allergy/sleeping pill.

My mistake, you are correct. I was thinking of something else.

Not at all. Benadryl contains Diphenhydramine as a main active ingredient - the same active ingredient in Tylenol PM. It is a very unique substance. From personal experience, sedating and stimulating simultaniously. Makes you drowsy, yet at the same time when it is in full force, it has crazy effects. Say I've just taken a couple Benadryl before bed. It makes you drowsy, but if the phone rings, doorbell goes off, somebody calls your name - you SPRING up and become very alerted. Sedation feels great, but you become very alert if suprisied. To answer your question - not euphoric, but fun nonetheless.

Benedryl is a histamine blocker.
A dose of 25mg is sufficient to put most people to sleep.

At higher doses, it inhibits the re-uptake of serotonin - the same neurotransmitter that is responsible for the effects of psychedelic drugs like MDMA, LSD, or mushrooms.

That is how I would characterize benedryl - psychedelic.
But not euphoric, because it does not induce pleasure.
This is what differentiates it from the other psychedelics.
They release dopamine, benedryl does not.

Caution - I have read MANY posts about people taking as few as 10 doses of benedryl and having a HORRIBLE trip. They hallucinate and experience anxiety. They also tell others to avoid AT ALL COSTS.

I may have had a VERY bad interaction between MDMA and benedryl.
I took 100mg after my first time doing E two weekends in a row.
The next day, an episode of Serotonin Syndrome may have occurred.
Believe me, you do NOT want to experience this!

Check out The Big & Dandy Deliriants Thread in PD for some more information on Benedryl which is definitely a delirient, I would advise to stay away from it, as most people find delirients very unpleasant.
