Is being scitzophrenic like tripping balls

Yah, no. Schizophrenia is not even a little bit psychedelic.

On a related note though, McKenna explored the similarities between those of us diagnosed and shamans.. Lol.

I experienced very bad psychosis which is similar , when I wasn't in full blown psychosis I found it quite fun because I knew when the voices weren't real and the haluicinations weren't real so I kind of enjoyed my altered state, but in full psychosis it was just fucked up , scariest days of my life , i could see people chasing me and looking for me and shit .

It's interesting how many mental states there are and why they arise and continue to exist. I looked into this thread because the very second time I tripped (on shrooms) I didn't quite expect it and actually used the phrase "I'm tripping balls" repeatedly. I didn't know how else to describe it (even to myself). If psychedelic states are more like dreams and movies, then psychotic states to me are more like when you get really angry and "lose it" (the latter hasn't happened to me since I was a kid; the former for a brief period much later on in my life). Delirium is probably somewhere in between. We seem to touch upon or go through these states as part of "growing up" (maybe teenagers live in this state :)) I've heard it said. I'd argue that being a teenager is more like being a schizophrenic than tripping balls is. 8o

shcorprehnia is not fun. period. Sometimes trippin out shziro like is fun, never for the mentally ill

i take that back some schziros i know like it but they dont feel high. Shizo is fun when ur high huh?

You know schizophrenics that enjoy being schizophrenic? Thats fucked up

I've had a schizo-break from Amphetamine,MDMA,Mushroom, and DXM combinations/constant abuse

My experience? Hearing voices constantly, having conversations inside my head with friends and then randomly showing up at their houses with them confused as fuck as to why I'm there and didn't inform them... Thoughts of murderers or hitmen who were after me and me leaving the house to go for a "walk" so the hitmen don't kill the family in there and only take me down - See a car driving by and assume that is them, see another - Oh shit! Their in a convoy! Oh my god, their gonna take me to a forest, tie me down, kill me with a sledgehammer or shotgun than throw me into a lake or burn my corpse!
- Quick, goto the nearby public park, they can't do this stuff in front of everybody. Sneak off to the forest making sure for 1 hour nobody is following me - smoke a joint. Make my way back home nervous and looking around everywhere - Get into the basement. I hear the door slam open and gunshots. People screaming - too scared to go up there. Panic, 911 dialed.

Ambulance takes me to the psych-ward. On anti-psychotics for 2 months and end up not doing any drugs except the speed to keep that addiction going for a little longer.

Once I quit my daily speed use and binges on SHIT like DXM I ended up becoming much healthier. I stopped the Anti-psychotics after 2 weeks on my own lying to the doctor because of the shitty fealing it gave me...

NO, Schizophrenia isn't like tripping. NO, paranoid delusions from psychosis or whatever isn't like tripping.
The only insight you get in the end of drug-induced psychosis/schizophrenia is that you shouldn't have fucking pushed the envelope so far to hurt yourself and those around you.

Psychedelics let you have new realizations of different sorts. The only hallucinations I recieve are visual, or cool audio effects. No delerious hallucinations or crazy thought patterns. They are usually based off things I've experienced and are real. Not ridiculous stuff that leads to months of damage, or a life-time if you end up with full-blown schizophrenia...
I see psych's as therapeutic tools... You abuse them and they will abuse you.
