Is 2mg of Suboxone better then taking 8mg?

I've hard that taking less suboxone is better then taking a lot at once? I am currently on 2 8mg sub's(films) twice a day. 1 8mg film in the morning and one at night. I've been on them for 2 days now. I do not get high/buzz from the 8mg at once at all. I heard that if you take less(like 2mg's) it will give you a buzz. Is this true? If anyone has any input on these please share your information.

I personally feel that less is better with suboxone maintenance / use. I don't take MORE than 2mg/day, but I also never have had as heavy of a habit as some.

Now, taking <2mg/day, I definitely DO feel some "ups and downs" but that's more because, yes, you'll actually feel the mood lift when you take your suboxone dose. Taking a lower dose allows the blood concentration of the drug to get below a certain point (different in everyone), where it will allow you to feel your dose. At 16mg/day, you're way above the "total blockade" dose range. Or if not way above, very solidly in it.

^Pretty much.

There's some debate in regards to the whole "less is more" thing with buprenorphine/Suboxone.

I tend to believe that you should take the least amount you need to take. Buprenorphine has an active metabolite, norbuprenorphine, which is a full agonist. At low doses, norbuprenorphine seems to be more active (less blocked by the buprenorphine in your system).

The answer to still out there though, your mileage my vary.

They come in 8 mgs, 2 mgs, and .5s I assume for a reason. Definitely been my experience that 2Mgs does the trick. It's got a long halflife. Try it. Yesterday was the last day of 1Mg an acquaintance took. I will let you know how I feel. Do you want to stop taking opiates and get over the problem of addiction?
