Benzos Is 16.75 mg of xanax a safe amount to take at once?

You need a reverse door man. Aka one person in the house that cares about you and you trust (and you gotta comply!) to say "Nah don't be leaving the house like that".

Tripsitter light?

title, likely a stupid question but i wanna get an answer
Without alcohol or any other depressants you would likely fall asleep on your feet unless you have tolerance which judging by your other post you have ,using benzos to forget the outside world dosnt work it will still be there when you wake up.

Used properly benzos do work for short term anxiety but unfortunately most people can't control their use and it becomes just another daily tool to function .
Xanax is a beast any time I have taken it changes me into a highly confident person ready to take on the world but not in a pleasant way
If your going to continue taking benzos then clonozopam or diazapam would be a better choice than Xanax but ultimately all benzo addiction leads you down the same path eventually .
There's a special rung in hell reserved for benzo addicts

^ I know this doesn't track with conventional or traditional knowledge --- but if I didn't have enough benzo's to not care for about a year or two I HONESTLY dont think I'd be alive still (Extradorniary circumstance, exception not rule, outlier etc)

My only point is if your options appear to be black out and sleep or do something drastic --- black out and sleep.

Used as prescribed ie 5 mg twice daily [valium] and if you new that your prescription would never end I think it's a wonderful drug just to get you through life.what I learned through the years is that taking handfulls of them just to get high or numb just doesn't work.
For one thing you don't get high [unless it's the first time you have tried them]and your tolerance goes through the roof .
To not require benzos would obviously be the best scenario but unfortunately that's not the case for some people

Gabapentin is a whole different animal for me
Agreed. Gabapentin (and I am sure pregabalin) totally potentiate benzos. 300 mgs of gabapentin and just 5 mgs of diazepam was calming for two days. But I can not think of two completely different drugs than benzos and gabapentinoids. I see some posts where people are heading straight into benzo withdrawal but have pregabalin. Sounds dangerous. If I read correctly benzo withdrawal needs benzos, and while gabapentinoids *may* help they are not interchangeable.

I come back to these benzo posts at times. I have an online family that consults me through emails who's daughter said she was taking 4 mgs of "street" xanax a day. Got 40 mgs of diazepam prescribed a day from a doctor but not really holding her. Now I tell this family what I learn here, I inspire them to do their own research. And with that learn themselves that the daughter was on an RC stronger than alprazolam. And she may be sneaking in more. But I can't see how 40 mgs of diazepam can't hold her. But I want them to find out themselves. I may be book smart but people with experience will know why 40 mgs of diazepam can't hold a person coming off 4 mgs of alprazolam. (which again was probably 10 mgs of flualprazolam) I thought all the metabolites would lasts, not so.

I hope they see this post. IF I get an email then I will know. If not they are not reading the board. But if I were a parent trying to help I would want to know all the info I could get. And it can only come from you all that have experience. Next time I will just say go to Bluelight AGAIN, peace out to the people that won't do their own research! I am realizing that since I always do a lot of research on anything I am doing, it sort of annoys me when other people go head first into things without research. And this class of drug touches all people in all professions and walks of life.

Very true @JackARoe

We live in an age where we all can learn everything on the internet aside from who shot JFK and why. We take for granted the fact that we can learn everything we need to know about our drugs without getting out of bed. With all of this information available at our fingertips, why not do the research? If a doctor wants to prescribe a medication that you might be taking for a decade or even your whole life, can´t you take the 1-2 hours required to learn the ins and outs of said drug?

If you here an urban legend, like ¨Methadone gets in your bones, that´s why it´s bad¨, you might as well verify if it is true or not. I have learned everything that I know about drugs through resources like Bluelight, Pubmed etc. If I can learn it, anyone can.

We all know how terrible doctors have become. They are all puppets of the pharmaceutical industry. We have been wronged by doctors too many times for people not to do their research. It is a sad fact that it is a stupid thing to put your trust in your physician. The best you can do is trust, but verify (don´t trust).
