Irrational phobia thread. Tooth brushing, foil biting, what's yours?

i'm ok with someone touching my feet, but if they isolate individual toes i LOSE it....i even have a hard time cutting my own toe nails because i don't wanna grab each toe. I got a pedicure last week cuz i was a bridesmaid and was squirming and trying to sit still. I think this all stems from when i tripped in a gopher hole as a kid and sprained my big toe and i'm terrified of breaking or spraining more toes.

I also know a girl who freaks out when people drink water out of paper cups. Weird, but kinda funny.

My sister has a phobia of crumpets:

She can't even look at them without running out of the room.

...But they taste so GOOD!! :D

i was just reminded on this one recently: but i hate it when people pull on their eyelids and you can see the pink flesh inside of the lid!! ack! even thinking about it makes me cringe.

MTV has this background image of some person pulling on their eyelid when they're listing the upcoming shows, and the eye is just moving around in the socket... i just about lose it every time.

styrofoam really bugs me, or anything that replicates that noise. but it doesn't hurt me NEARLY as much as it hurts my bf. he becomes a jello baby whenever styrofoam rears its ugly head - so obviously i suck it up and squeak it on purpose occasionally just to irritate him.

i also hate when people crack their knuckles around me - i shiver and gag and invariably yell at them to stop. but that's directly related to my ole broken finger - the sound of a bone snapping followed by seeing the really gnarly trauma hanging out of your own body is hard to forget without incident. other joints cracking is fine (i would know - i sound like a bowl of rice crispies when i walk, dance, stretch, etc).

WET BREAD UGH - or any food that's been run through a dishwasher (but mostly wet bread UGH). Worked in food service before??? ever separated and racked up silverware that's been run through once??? I have to wear 2 pairs of gloves to do that shit - there is NO reason that ANY of those textures should be allowed on earth.

OH and I HATE having my toes and bellybutton touched as well. There's something awful about how nerves and bellybuttons get together, because that shit is UNREAL.
And as for toes, I often find myself accidentally kicking animals in the summertime - when I'm wearing flip-flops and my dog or cat or friend's dog LICK my TOES - I seriously flip. I've inadvertently kicked a loooottttttttttt of my friend's dogs when it happens. feet - fine. toes - AHHHHH

I'm actually the same with cupboard doors. I hate them being part way open. I also can't stand electricity switches being on with anything plugged in!

I have no idea why but I can't stand cotton balls.....they come in the OTC products like generic advil when you open the seal...the feel of them in my hand sends shivers down my body...weird I know!

I thought I was the only person who hated those things. they feel discussing and give me shivers too haha.

Also I hate the feel of biting shirts but when I think about it I want to do it. Like a OCD things haha.

And when sand moves under your feel... gross.

Scraping a fork on a plate.... also gross.

People touching my belly button or my feet. Ive accidentally kicked people before when they touched my feet.

terrified of electric shocks the ones you get when emptying your tumble drier and will get the kids to lift everything out and seperate it before I touch it, also getting out of any vehicles my foot must touch the ground and have one hand on the roof of the car before I can take the next foot out due to the elctric shock I got getting out of a tractor.

my friend has a severe phobia about clowns, people who dress up like those robots who move funny and one that I could never get used to and would walk away from her if she started freaking was down syndrome people. she would start hyperventilating, legs would crumble and tears would be streaming down her face and I always wondered about it. I think that is the strangest one I have came across.

You'd hate my grandma's house then, lol. The door leading from the entry way has a metal handle. I remember once when I was little I had spent the entire weekend there. On my way out, I went to turn the handle and ZAP! I was on the ground. Good ol' static electricity. I don't remember it hurting, just that it sent me to the ground, lol.

Had a mental blank when I was writing that. I meant power points :)
Still don't quite get what you mean. Do you mean Microsoft Office Power Points? Lol, sorry. You don't have to clarify if you don't want to--It's probably very obvious and I'm just tired.

I know what fizzle means. Lotus seeds creep me the fuck out.

Don't open if you hate similar shaped stuff.

Oh dear god amy, i almost died when i opened that *SHUDDER*

It reminds me of when you see a weird movie where a woman has eyes in her nipples (i'm thinking about The Beastmaster)

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! That's what one of Pop's shirts look like at the back too, that's what i was trying to describe :(

Cracking/chipping my teeth. I have big-ish front teeth and every once in awhile hit 'em on a glass when I'm drinking quickly... So paranoid about cracking/chipping my teeth. I tried a new fruit the other day and unbeknownst to me, it had a nice big pit in the middle. Totally thought I cracked my front teeth.

:( I think it's 'cause I've had so much dental work done over the years (8+ years of braces, 3+ years with headgear, a decade with retainers).

i know theres other irrational phobia's i have but the only one i can think of is seeing blood and gore anywhere. but i dont have a problem with it if its me thats injured. i dont know if that makes sense but i think i always imagine that the other person is in so much more pain than they actually are but when it happens to me im just like "oh thats it?"

my other one was needles but i found out they weren't so bad when i became an IV drug user :\

i have another:

i hate using the bathroom when it's dark. like even if i have to get up to pee in the middle of the night i absolutely have to turn the light on. i think it stems from having baby water moccasins come up through our toilet when i was a child.
