You may capture but a glimpse of the “Garden of Eden,”
Like many before you, the fruit you have eaten.
Now reeling, ranting, running and retreating
Your heart beating, pounding from one moment, fleeting,
You remain seeking, searching and dreaming.

You’re out there, are you looking for me?
I’m hiding over here, behind the apple tree!
Have one taste… a little bite,
And I’m off and running, into the night.
Ask the serpent over there, he understands our plight.

We can share but a moment of human desire,
Then search again, of this we never tire.
Hunting, confronting, but concealing the truth,
It’s never enough, just to act all aloof.
If you’re lonely inside, there’s the proof.
