Introduction (Theme of the Month) only slightly scattered;)

It may be a little late for an introduction to me here as I already have quite a few blog posts.........

So I have decided to do a short series of blogs-

This being the Introductory Post of the series:)

The subject of the series will be-
Holistic Medicine……

Holistic-
“related to holism; Relating to an analysis of the whole instead of a separation into parts.”
source

“Holistic health is a philosophy of medical care that views physical and mental and spiritual aspects of life as closely interconnected and equally important approaches to treatment. ...”

Holistic medicine’s history goes back over 5000 years.
The Egyptians gave their knowledge of herbal and botanical medicine to the Greeks.
Herbal medicine is a great interest of mine.
This practice and other Holistic methods (acupuncture, massage, energy healing etc.) have been around much longer than the name ‘Holistic Medicine” and our common forms of medicine. The roots are wide- there is history in Chinese medicine, Indian, Egyptian, Greek, and American Indian ……..

Holistic Medicine is living and caring for yourself as a whole in harmony with nature.
Instead of treating your body with chemical products you try to achieve good health through natural ways…….
There are a number of things that I, myself or my family have tried and things I have always wanted to learn about or try myself…….
I am hoping that by starting this series it will give me the motivation to continue to learn

This is what I will look at during my little BL blog series :)

Oh good :) Maybe I can ask you some questions??:)
What methods are you familiar with?

I have a list of topics so far and I was thinking originally I would do 3 or 4 but my list is at least 10 long :)
(Aromatherapy,Hypnotherapy,Hydrotherapy,Stone Massage therapy, Physical movement-like Yoga,Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine-which I know nothing about, and more.....)

I am hoping that by doing this I will stay motivated to learn about methods I was unfamiliar with- but plan to start with one or two I am familiar with.......

That list sounds awesome :D I've read up on all of those topics you mentioned but Im no expert lol, just always been very interested and curious about such things. :) I am most enthusiastic about aromatherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture [which I have undergone several times in the past] , the 5 Tibetan Rites (the only "yoga-ish" routine I do consistently ) and traditional Chinese medicine. What are you really interested in? Maybe after giving it some thought you can narrow it down to five (but who says you cant do all ten!) Of course you may ask me anything anytime.:D

We know so little about healing our bodies and minds. There is much to be learned from many different sources that I don't discount any one belief system. The mind is so powerful, if only we knew how to tap it's potential.
