Hi everyone,

I'm new here and this is my first post. I have been doing quite a bit of reading the past couple months and have learned a lot on this site. I never expected that at almost fifty I would be using so called "hard drugs" as I never really cared for pot when I was younger - it made me paranoid. I haven't drank alcohol for quite some time either.

It started when my bf, who is a former addict offered me heroin when I had a migraine. I have had other health problems and have found that using methamphetamine can make the difference between staying in bed all day in pain and going to work, cleaning my house, and doing other productive things.

My use started pretty slowly and now I am a daily user (the past couple weeks anyway). I have a fairly high profile management job and am expected to do more than I can. I also work in the heathcare (mental health) field. My biggest fear is getting a possession charge. I am extremely careful, but there are no guarantees and with drugs there are risks.

The biggest thing I have learned is not to judge others because one can never know their reason for doing things and what they may be dealing with.

Thanks for reading my introduction!

Methamphetamine or Desoxyn; depending on how you use it; Intravenous (IV) is very addicitve.
Just trying to read into your situation.
Are your migraine's the problem?
If that's the source, perhaps stress from your work; often people smoke pot to calm down.
It causes paranoia for me also, but it's great for yoga, Halasana (Plow Pose)
I've never had a headache since using this posture.

Methamphetamine is a huge step up; but is really neurotoxic and not realistic.
If needs must take lot's of antioxidants; green tea in powder form and magnesium.
Sometimes I make a hot chocolate with finely chopped MJ.
Just let it simmer in milk; and add chocolate powder at the end.

with the Plow Pose; support the lower back with your hands; then slowly extend the legs over.

Hey execuser,

There is no age or type when it comes to drug use or addiction. I used to be surprised at the people I'd met along the way that I'd never wouldve thought used...I understand loving meth. Yes, you get so much done, and when you have health issues that can slow you down, and that's not how you usually operate, it's enticing.

Enticing...and insidious. Lots of drugs seem to improve your life at first, only to have them take it away eventually. Be careful. Welcome.

Hello excuser and welcome to the forums! Glad you joined the site and many valuable information here.

Thanks to all of you for your replies and concern. I saw drugs (heroin) ruin my ex-husbands life so I know how dangerous this is. I am anxious at times about what I am doing and the potential consequences. I hope to be able to stop using sometime in the near future. However, until then I would like to learn best practices and learn more about other people's experience. That is why I joined Bluelight.

Hi Wasted_Talent,

Thanks for your reply. I actually used heroin first for about a month to deal with migraines. When I stopped, I had mild withdrawals. I did use occasionally, but never too many times in a row, so I wouldn't go through withdrawals again. The meth use came about six months later when I wanted to try ecstasy and we couldn't find any. Someone suggested that meth is similar and so I injected it the first time (I know that is a huge step). I think my guard was let down because of the previous heroin use.
