into the sky

when i'm feeling like this, staring above,
and all i want to do is
know something, someone is there,
the waiting sky opens up and
swallows me whole
without asking
if i wanted to wish upon its stars
or predict my future from its orbiting moons
it doesn't ask if i'm ready
and when the night sky releases me
i'm just as empty as before
only left with the longing
---while stargazing...
