Last night I watched an American made documentary on the Rising Use Of Ecstacy, now thinking that it would just be another 'just say no' campaign about all the bad things relating to this drug it was actually a very informed program put together by Peter Jennings from the ABC.

The show has information and pictures of the first people that discovered the MDMA molecular structure in 1912 and follows on to interview such people as Shulgin and has a great interview with him and another man (Glekk?) who was the first manufacturer of 'Ecstacy' (he named it and manufactured it first for sale in Dallas in 1985 or so apparantly)

I got this doco off a bittorrent site, Its 350mb or so in size and is encoded in XviD format if anyones interested I'm sure you could drop me a PM.

more info about this from official abc america website below---

Ecstasy's Appeal
How Did an Obscure Compound Attract Throngs of Users?
Ecstasy is among the fastest growing illegal drugs in history. If current trends continue, 1.8 million Americans will try Ecstasy for the first time in 2004.
In a special edition of Primetime Thursday airing April 1 at 10 pm ET, ABCNEWS investigates what has become one of the most widely used drugs in the country.
"There is an evangelical fervor with Ecstasy," says Robert MacCoun, a drug policy analyst at UC, Berkeley. "People who experience it tell their friends to try it."
To combat its popularity The National Institute on Drug Abuse campaigned saying it causes massive brain damage. But does it?
The use of Ecstasy has declined among teenagers in the last two years. Is this an indication that Ecstasy is on the way out? Should the anti-drug campaign be more aggressive? Is there enough evidence to document the risks associated with the drug?

I'd advise you all strongly to watch it as it was very informative on the creation of the drug and follows all paths it has been used (medical and other)

plenty of great interviews with lots of people related to the explosion of the drug making its way heavily into the club scene...

if someone has 350mb they want to host the file on (a fast link) Id accept PMs maybe :)

I really wanted to watch this and was happy to find Ecstasy Rising was ripped. Bit Torrent was so slow for me. Then when I continued reading thread http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=129651&r=135 i discovered that MAPS is hosting the video as well - http://www.maps.org/avarchive/er/.

If your keen on Bit Torrent, use the BL torrent Chrissie and Buzzy organised http://www.bluelight.ru/vb/showthread.php?postid=1806466#post1806466

Have all but 60mb left to download. Haven't watched any parts yet but will tonight after I get this study out of the way :X
