I have a script of Gabapentin for pain in my knees and began taking Kratom for extra relief.
I never would take them at the same time because the main reason I started using the Kratom was so I didn't have to take as much Gabapentin. The other day however, I took about 600mg of Gabby with about 3 grams of premium Kratom and all I can say is WOW. The opiate like effects of the Kratom weren't any stronger but the speedy feeling from the Gabapentin was definitely enhanced and the pain relief lasted for TWICE as long. (Plus there was a little extra euphoria on the side ;) )
I was wondering if there are any dangerous interactions between the two drugs because I plan on taking this combination quite frequently (every couple days or whenever the pain is pretty bad).

As Kratom isn't too well researched as far as interactions go, I personally would err on the side of caution. Gabapentin on its own doesn't have too many interactions, but you should always be careful. I've "heard" about combining Vicodin and Gabapentin and experiencing some of the same effects you've described.

My advice? Moderation. It's not a combination I would do frequently. Try to keep it down to when you're having the knee pain severely and not just every day.

It would probably be the same as combining tramadol and gabapentin, which is a wonderful combination IME, not just from a recreational stand-point but a therapeutic one also.

Ya Opiator I only do it when my pain is severe which is probably at most 3 times a week.
And yes Chromophobia it is quite a wonderful combination from both standpoints ;)

they are completely safe to take together. i have taken the two together many times, and the only negative side effect i felt from combininig the two was increased sedation.\\

you will be fine! the gabaentin will feel good iwth the kratom man... you will have agood day ;)vjust dont drink or take any other drugs except marijuana and nicotine. dont take caffein because it will interact with the kratom in a malevolent way.

As others have said, and as you have discovered, these drugs synergise quite well together.

There is no known negative interaction as far as this combination goes.
