Let's make it a short story...
I am suffering from bulimia for the last 6 years. 2 years ago, I decided to take care of my disorder and started therapy. It was successful to help me understand the roots of my disease. I was also trying holistic approach & traditional cognitive therapy, but nothing really helped. i was still binging/purging everyday. 4 months ago, I learned about Vyvanse and I've read a lot about it. As soon as it was legal to use it for binge therapy, my doctor agreed to put me on it.
It improved my concentration, help me not obsess about food and gave me the taste of a 'normal life' during daytime.
No surprise, I get the munchies at night, no matter how much I eat during the day. It puts me back sometimes in the binge-purge loop and it is extremely hard to keep my determination and I loose trust in my own willpower...
My friend who works for a pharmaceutical company gave me 3 months worth of Topomax, to try. I have read that I could really help against my late binges and I can't wait to try it.
My doctor always disagreed with Topomax because of the risk of kidney stones or heart failure, but I am pretty sure it is far less worst than purging everyday...
The reviews online are almost unanimous about the scary side effects of loosing mind clarity. Combining it with Vyvanse would help or make it worst? I am at the head of a serious company and can't imagine how bad this would be...
Last question, I am a good 10 pounds overweight. I am wondering if Topomax would help incrinsing my metabolic rate or simply working as a anoretic like Vyvanse? I may be dreaming, but I am confident Topomax could give me a good push and confidence boost to help me go threw remission.
I don't plan using it for a decade, simply a couple of months.
