Hi all,

I've recently discovered mephedrone. It's something of a miracle drug for me; I love the way it makes me feel and it is significantly cheaper and easier to come by than its alternatives. Anyway, I've recently come across about a gram and have been partaking for the last 2 days. I keep my intake to a minimum and snorted about a pen cap size the day before yesterday and a pen cap and a half yesterday, (sorry for the vague description, I will remember to weigh next time) alternating nostrils after every instance. It is however important to note that after the first line I was quite careless, insufflating it at around 4:00 p.m. and not rinsing it out until I showered the next day, at around 5:00 a.m. But the second line was rinsed out thoroughly with warm water around 10 minutes after insufflation.

So anyway, this morning, I woke up and my nose felt clogged as it does most everyday after insufflating. I proceeded to steam it out for a few minutes and blew with a fair amount of pressure. I noticed blood in my mucous and then my nose started dripping fairly heavy for about 20 minutes. I noted that the blood came predominantly from my right nostril and that was the only sticky one after the event stopped, there is still residual spotting coming from that area. This seems normal to me going by how the events of the day transpired; first line - right nostril on day 1, second line - left nostril on day 2, half a line - right nostril, also on day 2. It made a mess of the bathroom and annoyed the crap out of my brother.

I've been doing some research to see if anyone can ballpark the amount of powder you'll need to put up your nose for it to start bleeding. The experiences varied; some reported a month binge before it started (about 2 grams over the course of a month, according to reports) while others have said it just started after a one day binge (around a gram in a day). Most of these anecdotes were relating to cocaine as mephedrone experiences are harder to come by, but since I figured mephedrone was a tad more caustic I'd just add a little time to the average. But I digress. I seem to be in the "nosebleed after one day binge" camp. Of course around 2 lines, maybe 100mg in all, is significantly less than a gram in a day binge, but I know mephedrone is a more caustic substance. Anyway, this leads to my question.

Since I appear to be more sensitive to insufflating than a lot of people; does that mean something more permanent, a la septum damage, will happen to me quicker than it does to others as well? Or to rephrase that question, are nosebleeds commonly accepted as a precursor to septum damage? Also, even after my experience, I have no intention of quitting mephedrone (I know, this seems pathetic even to me. Please don't judge me) So my second question is: would a short break, about a month or so, dedicated to healing my nose be the smart course of action after what happened? Is that enough of a break, or is that impossible to quantify? Thank you for your responses.

Lastly, some slight damage control :), I'm sorry if this question has been asked upwards of 80,000 times, I've been exhausting the search function as well as Google for the past couple hours and haven't found this specific issue relating to this substance and this problem. In the spirit of harm reduction, I was wondering if any of you guys could link me to discussion on this forum or the internet in general, that relates to my problem; you know, just out of the kindness of your heart :). Also, I am new here and I apologize if this caused an inconvenience or annoyance to any regulars who are around. On that note I am open to any tips as to not step on anybody's toes or just some sort of general rules of etiquette and non-written rules in regards to this forum. Any and all assistance would be appreciated. Lastly (no really this time), I am extremely excited to be a member of a forum dedicated to educating people about a variety of substances and one that allows people to share their personal experience so as to serve as cautionary tales as well as catalysts for allowing people to form their own thoughts and make their own decisions. I hope to be a productive addition to the coherent thought/discussion that goes on in this website.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read my novel, and stay safe all!

The alternative, bombing, isn't my cup o' tea. I prefer the quick onset of insufflation. Also, when bombed, the effects last a good while longer and it's not as easy to get to sleep as when I snort it. I mean, I can handle bombing for the rest of my career, if that's what it takes to save my nose; I'm just wondering, will I really have to retire my nose this early, or can I ever go back to it?

We don't bump threads here.

Part of the reason nobody's replying is that your wall of text is too much for the attention-deficit people around here, getting straight to the point in a few lines is best for asking questions if you want rapid responses.

Nosebleeds are a sign you're overdoing it. Any crystalline alkaloidal substance put into your nose will 1. dry it out, 2. irritate the mucosa, and some of them (stmulants) will also constrict blood vessels or be directly corrosive.

Other things this will happen with: amphetamines, MDMA, ketamine, cocaine. Even powder heroin I believe.

Easiest way to migitate damage is frequent use of a saline (0.9% salt in water) nasal spray, you can buy em at a drug store. Some people like neti pots, that's basically the same idea. Rinse your nose out after a session.

Other alternative: do less intranasally, perhaps 50/50 snorted and bombed?

An alternative is rectal administration. Dissolve meph in <5ml water, (possibly, if you're scientifically inclined) adjust the pH to ~7 with a small amount bicarbonate, load into oral syringe (get em @ a pharmacy), and up the butt it goes.

Oh shoot, my bad! I don't know how I missed that rule, it was right there, haha. Thanks for your response, though; much appreciated. I've been continuing to read around and I've noticed that neti-pot suggestion elsewhere. I've also been asking around my circle and they tell me I can insufflate the same amount I've been insufflating I just have to stretch it out over a wider timeline. 50/50 snort/bomb is also something I can get behind since bombing alone doesn't really do it for me, but snorting so much is really harsh on my delicate nose.

Sorry again for the rule violation and the wall of text as well. I'll remember to keep it concise in the future.

Thanks a lot! Hopefully your suggestions will lead to my nose's speedy and complete recovery.
