Is there something wrong with me that EVERYTHING I take seems to make me tolerant after 1 or 2 uses? I'm not just talking about illicit drugs either, ibuprofen, JWH-XXX, caffeine, cannabis fuck, I even got tolerant to this shit I'm taking for acid reflux after about 2 pills. Is there something wrong with me or is this normal because it pisses me off that I can only use any one substance maybe once a year to not build an infinite tolerance to it. And I mean INFINITE, I can take 800mg of caffeine right now and I guarantee you I'd be asleep in an hour.

Anything to go to a doctor about? Of course I'm not going to say "HEY DOC I HAVE A HIGH TOLERANCE TO ILLEGAL DURGZ CAN YOU HALP?", but even ones that I NEED I have a super high tolerance to.

Hmm.....ive heard of people having a high tolerance to certain drugs or maybe even all but to have a normal tolerance & then after 2 uses, all of a sudden you have an extremely high tolerance, weird.

When you took oxycodone or hydrocodone your first time, did you get really high?

Your purely just over thinking it. There is no possible way you have a natural tolerance to all drugs to the extent you describe.

It's psychosomatic, purely psychological. Stop thinking so much.

Like do you even understand the processes that create tolerance and what tolerance even is? It's not possible.

People can tolerate a diverse range of doses the first time the take a drug, some cant feel 10mg some 10mg is too much. But it is impossible to be completely tolerant to a drug after 2 uses, like infinite tolerance this is stupid man.

Take a nodding dose of heroin one day, then take double the dose next day and i bet you die if you dont get naloxone mate. Not possible. You might no enjoy your drugs or whatever but no way possible you can build an "infinite" whatever the fuck that means, tolerance to ANY drug after two uses. Your trippin.

Yeeeeeeaaaaahh, don't do this. :|

This is supposed to be a harm-reduction forum, and even assuming the OP is a avid heroin user you shouldn't be giving him such advice as to "double your dose the next day.. and I bet you'll die"

If you're up for it, 'The Network', do some more or less harmless drug with extremely noticeable effects. Pop a few grams of mushrooms for a few days in a row, or take 1-gram of caffeine, wait two hours, and take a nap. I'm sure this is all in your head, though I do understand your frustration. Are you on any medications?

Get a grip mate if someone cannot detect sarcasm that is not my problem. You really think someone is going to read my obviously sarcastic remark and actually go try that?

Some drugs build a very thick tolerance with one administration, such as LSD or mushrooms. However this is certainly not what you are talking about.

Nonetheless, I will concur with the other posters who explained this is likely psychological in nature.

How can it be psychological? If I take a break from even microgram amounts of caffeine for a month, I could take 50mg and have an effect which would be basically my anxiety put into overdrive and bouncy, running all over the place not sitting still. But the next day I'd need 200mg to get that, then 500mg the next, and then after that no safe dose would work. I'm using caffeine as an example the most because honestly I use it the most and it's exactly the same as with other (illicit) drugs, but I can get 5KG of caffeine for the price I can get a few grams of most illicit drugs.

Better hope you never get injured, because from what you've stated, you would be out of pain meds within 2 weeks & they would stop working at the dose recommended & there is no way the doctor would increase your dosage that fast.

I kind of know what he means, though. I've always had a ridiculous tolerence for drugs. Which makes no sense bc I'm tall, thin and female. I'm new to RCs and, according to my research, my dose amts seem off the charts. There's also the likely (im)purity factor. Who knows? What I wanted to suggest is that highs are different and sometimes we assign tolerance when we mean failure. As in, everyone has his favorite way to feel. You can get plain fucked up on a lot of things and still not feel high. You catch the first inkling and it vanishes, so you do more. When that fails, you think you're tolerant. But no, whatever it is, it just ain't happenin'. Gotta move along. That's the bummer about RCs - it takes a long time to get it right and it's hard to be patient. The reward is personal discovery.

The Network why dont you actually go see a doctor about this? Obviously don't base it around recreational drugs, but as you said this is an issue with all drugs, and if this is actually happening to you perhaps it's indication of some kind of improper function of your liver(metabolising the drugs super fast or something) or your brain kinda thing.

As others have stated in a serious medical context your condition, if not purely psychological, could pose some very serious problems.

Who knows perhaps you have some rare desease?

If you're really serious and concerned about this, go see a doctor.

If you're really serious and concerned about this, go see a doctor. Sorry, had to chuckle, and present with what? ''Doc, none of the little-known-not-for-human-consumption RCs I've been guinea pigging get me high?'' But, no, you're right. It's never a bad idea to have your bloodwork checked.

Tip? Work out, Drink more water, if you have a high fat diet i find that stuff wont effect you as well, If you work out and drink alot of water you can absorb stuff easier, Atleast tahts what ive found .

Gl though :)

I also develop a naturally quick tolerance to certain drugs as well. (Mainly opiates) Nothing like what you are talking about but definitely more than anyone else I know. You never know, maybe the man in the sky was pissed off at something when he made you. :)

re

Genetics could play some role. But if you think you're not going to get high it can come true. Maybe just maybe you should change your setting, friends, administration, frequency of administration when you take your DOC. There is a reason. But i'm with blayne on this one. This guy would definitely od. If not you are simply not human.

I have a naturally high tolerance to opioids, benzos, and stims and i'm the type that builds tolerance extremely fast to all variations of drugs. But even i know my limits and would never do anything stupid. I guarantee that if you started with .25 grams of pure meth via ingestion you would not be able to continually double your intake of said drug. The long half life would allow massive amounts to build up. You'd probably be dead by day 3 or 4. But what do i know?
