last night i ate 1600mg of valerian root and 200mg of seroquel w/i an hour and didn't get a glimpse of sleep. i now have 100mg of seroquel left and around 1mg of xanax i just found. i get horrible RLS and anxiety (probably due to the RLS) when attempting sleep. the doses i took last night should have knocked a normal person out cold, correct?

will 100mg of seroquel and 1mg xanax and 800mg of valerian be a good sleep aid?

try it again tonight i bet you will sleep really good since you're already tired.

yeah. i was already very tired last night though and didn't get to sleep.
fuck insomnia....

The taking of 1mg xanax will definitely help boost Seroquel's sedative properties. However, if you could increase the Seroquel, it would be far more effective in helping you sleep than taking 100mg and 1mg xanax, but I believe you mentioned only having 100mg of Seroquel, so yes, the extra 1mg xanax should help.

well i aqcuired 100mg of ambien. just dosed 25mg over 2 hour period and am still awaiting to fall asleep...next time i shall dose 20mg all at once.

^ The thing is, you need to lie down in bed for it to make you sleep. Sitting on your computer isn't going to help.

Turn the lights off, lie down in bed, and relax. Then it will work. (Unless you are abnormal.)

I have severe insomnia and RLS, I can never sleep. My freshmen year of undergraduate college I didn't go to bed a single time before 4AM (unless I had been up for over 2 days). I regularly stay up for over 24 hours.

Work around having a schedule of doing just one thing a day, make all your 'errands' scheduled into one block. That way you can work with either that being the beginning of your day, waking up right before, or having it be the end of your day. As a senior in high school I regularly would go to bed after coming home from school and would wake up in the AM.

It's tough, but no doubt it makes life interesting by all the walks we RLS'ers take. Just learn to live a life with it, it will make you a different and interesting person. In my hometown everyone recognizes me as the kid who's always walking at night and with is dog, and I have no clue who the fuck they are.

Oh, how so many stories of mine begin with "So I was walking around at 3AM..."

well the 25mg of ambien proved to be quite unsuccessful, although i did get sme sleep. even after lying down, lights off, no computer i was unable to fall asleep quick.

i'm going to the doctor today and hope to get talking about hypnotic benzos such as triazolam. he was already iffy on prescribing me xanax though, so i don't think he will be one to write a script for halcion.

Exactley^

Ambien DOSENT work unless you lie down in a dark room. Usually I will take 400mgs Trazadone and 2 ambien CRs, and I will not get the least bit sleepy unless Im in bed with the lights off.

You must try go to sleep as soon as you take the ambien, there's a time window that you must fall asleep in... I don't know exactly how big it is but if you miss it, the ambien might make your insomnia worse.

I have severe insomnia compounded by the fact I'm in quite a bit of pain ATM. The best treatment for me was a hypnotic (zopiclone) and sedative (trazadone) combination. Maybe low dose of seroquel (50mg?) with ambien (10-20mg) will work for you, seeing as you have both drugs available. Just be aware that it's easier to overdose on a combo than it is to od by taking large amounts of the individual drugs.

If your doctor is unwilling to prescribe stronger drugs and you feel your insomnia is interfering with your life, see a psychiatrist. You have a legit reason, just be honest with him. Psychiatrists know a lot more than GP's when it comes to sleep and they know how to treat insomnia.

well my doctor wasn't interested in what worked for me in the past (benzos), so he gave me a trial w/ Rozerem. i guess i'll try this, but i am thinking it won't faze me.

my doctor said it doesn't produce immediate effects. he said it won't really start working until 2-5 days later, and may not work at all.

i sure hope it does. i love sleep, but unfortunately sleep does not love me.

:-(

You could try some diphenhydramine. I pretty much have to take it (100mg) any night in which i want to fall asleep...not very healthy but its kinda interesting...i miss good ol fashioned sleep though...:(
