I have insomnia while off, even though you could say it is from WDing but anyway even when i am on all my meds which are

Oxycodone, Fentanyl, Soma, klonopin & valium

i still suffer from my insomnia, mostly because of PTSD i can't sleep and just lay there thinking of something in the past and reliving it.

I can knock myself out with soma, but after a few days 1400mgs has little effect

What medication could i ask for my insomnia?

I used to be on ambien but came off of it because i would stay up and see shit and act werid and call people and do fucked up shit , just like on soma lol

Two benzodiazepines and two very potent opioids. Jesus almighty, whatever you do, don't abruptly stop your concoction of drugs, for a shotgun blast to the head would surely be more pleasant!

for insomnia:

Melatonin is a good first-line choice. It's an endogenous hormone, i.e. you won't get addicted to it.

Valerian Root at higher doses (1 gram) knocks me out pretty well, but it doesn't sound like too much of a grand idea adding another sedative to your regimen.

More radically, I recommend exercise! It makes your body want rest due to all the physical exertion.

edit: if you want a prescription drug I recommend Lunesta: it can be used near indefinitely if used properly (read this for more info: http://biopsychiatry.com/misc/lunesta.html)

i have insomnia as well and have tried numerous things to try and help but nothing other than ambien cr works for me. however, i do not like taking it bc i have amnesia associated with the drug and it scares me that i might eventually do something potentially harmful. i have tried melatonin and it did not work for me. i suggest giving the melatonin a try though to see if it works for you bc everyone is built differently and what did not work for me may work for you.

I've tried clonazepam, lorazepam, ambien, etc and out of everything the best thing for sleep I can find is over the counter doxylamine succinate. It make me fall into a very comfortable sleep while waking up without feeling foggy. Its great, IMO

Yes doxylamine succinate helps me sleep too, easily. Even very low doses as in 7,5 mg + dokomo is right when you wake up you will feel relaxed, but not like a zombie.

With all the meds you are on there is probably nothing that is going to help. By increasing the doses of your painkillers and sedatives you have painted yourself into a corner. No doc is going to script another benzo, and it's soon going to get to the point where your pain isn;t going to be controlled.

If it is PTSD that is the root cause of all these medication abuse issues (which could very well be the case) I implore you to seek help, b/c the way you are going, you are going to hit rock bottom sooner rather than later. Realise that everyone here can't be wrong. We are not against you, we are trying to help you.

Sooner or later you are going to need to get things under control without drugs, b/c no doc is going to script the doses you need. Don't do it for us, do it for yourself.

again, youre right

halcion, if they still let those bad boys out..... I know remeron knocked my ass out when I had it.

But honestly if you take a good source of melotonin, i cannot see that NOT working

With the current drug regime Halcion is only going to make things worse. The reason OP can't sleep is because he has increased his doses and now requires to much for it to work. He's taking kpins and Valium, on top of potent opiates, as well as a muscle relaxant.....

More drugs are not the answer

For some people those drugs would keep them awake; me for one. Opiates cause stimulation as opposed to sedation in a good amount of people with ADD

Klonopins (which i am prescribed) don't reallly make me tired at all. Xanax bar is the only thing that literally tranqs me out anymore. but I like being awake more than sedated anyways

+1

As shocking as it sounds taking a pill for every ailment is bound to cause trouble sooner or later.8)

Have you ever tried chamomile tea? It helped me a lot during opiate w/d, and I still drink it almost every night. I am a person who has experienced insomnia since I can remember, even as a child, and this stuff is great! Celestial Seasonings makes one called Sleepytime, and it not only is relaxing, it also has a delicious mild taste. I use 2 bags per cup, and I allow it to steep for a good 10 min. or so before drinking it.

I often suffer from acute insomnia while on my script of Oxys/Percocet/Soma. I usually take a 100mg trazodone or some Restoril (temazepam). Watch out though, Restoril really fucks me up and I always get a hangover from taking it.

Opiates may add to the insomnia, as mentioned above. Vicodin and Oxycodone actually wire me, as opposed to sedation. The only opiates that knocked me on my ass were heroin and fentanyl.
Maybe try reducing the opiates, or more idealistically, go see a doctor and tell him what you told us. The further down this path you go, the worse it will get, and your credibility with doctors will be shattered. Be honest now before its too late.

Mirtazipine is great for sleep and depression,Try it if you have become depressed because off insomnia..

like posted prior, I've always been told to exercise in the evening time to help 'wear' you out.

I have insomnia every once and awhile, and sometimes it's caused by not doing anything.

like on a weekend day, if I sit around and do nothing all day, then when it's time for me to go to bed, I usually lay there fully awake wondering why I'm not falling asleep, but if I do something during the day, like do physical work and mow the yard when I get home, then I can usually pass out pretty easily.

I would think soma would help make you tired, cause it did me in the past... I'm also prescribed klonopins and flexeril, so sometimes when I can't sleep I'll take one of each, but sometimes it helps, and sometimes it doesn't.

good luck, like everyone else has stated, I wouldn't attempt to get on more meds, cause you're on more than enough now. I'd just go for a walk around your neighborhood or something, that'll definitely help.
