Insomnia! *MEGA-thread*

That's way too much melatonin. High doses will actually keep you awake rather than help you sleep. Try taking no more than 3mgs, with 100mgs DPH(avoid it if you can, wake up feeling shite if you take too much or too often). K-pins aren't the best for sleep, save those for your anxiety.

Try to get an hour of fully exposed sunlight to your eyes daily, it helps to regulate sleep cycles, might even help the depression. Try to do high-intensity workouts as well, at least six hours prior to bedtime, beating yourself up with help both the sleep and anxiety.

Avoid caffeine, napping, and alcohol if you can.

GL!

Thanks for the tips guys !

I know that Diphenhydramine makes me feel shittier and groggy and not want to get up, but its the only thing I have besides Hydroxyzine (which works well, but I take it took quickly). Last night I slept surprisngly well.. I avoided all liquids the few hours before I went to sleep.. and I only woke up 2 times before my alarm had gone off.. I am unsure why I woke up both times, but it wasn't to go to the bathroom.

I also took the suggestion, as well as looking into it myself about melatonin, and only took 1 3mg pill and I smoked a few bowls of Chamomile.. I wanted to hopfully get as relaxed/sleepy as possible. It seemed to work, I was watching George Carlin on tv and I was sort've falling asleep in my hand. I ended up forcing my mind to distract itself from my heartrate.

I kept forcing myself to think of something else , anything, and if I thought of my heartrate or something liek that for even HALF A SECOND i quickly changed my thinking.. and I think that is what helped the most.

Thank you :) My app , Sleep Cycle, says Sleep Quality 73% and time in bed 9:51. I am very surprised at how well I slept. Normally my charts look like a valley then a plateau. But it is how it is supposed to be, up and down up and down up and down. If you guys don't get what I mean by this I can send a picture of the app. It is SO helpful!

valdoxan is a wonder drug for these purposes, ashwagandha is also wonderful for improving sleep quality and preventing waking up at intervals during the night

of course 30 mins cardio exercise in the afternoon/evening and eating healthily are also things that make sleep easier/better

have you tried valerian? or passion flower works well,
or get some laveneder oil on your head and temples

i tried pretty much everything and anything to get some suenos
when i did the sleep was kind of unfullfilling .
what worked for me was stop taking everything and anything that may make me tired,
let my body and mind reset /detox
now i sleep like a baby
with no sleep aids,

it takes time and it sucks, but the quality of sleep i have now rocks,

Make sure basics are covered:
- well rounded diet (especially magnesium-containing foods)
- enough mental and physical activity during the day
- proper sleep hygiene (your bed is for sleeping only, don't do other mental activities in there); turn off all bright room lights in the evening to simulate partial darkness; don't eat a big meal or do anything physically rigorous two hours before bed, etc.

Things you can try (based on your symptoms):
- passion flower, oatstraw, california poppy

The drugs you list are not appropriate, and that dose of melatonin is way too high.

Ashwagandha has cured my insomnia - completely. :)

A brief excursion into my history: I'd suffered from insomnia for a few years. I've taken zopiclone, trazodone, etizolam and phenibut. They all worked well but weren't drugs I was happy taking long-term.

Anyhows, I found Ashwagandha, began to take 300mg an hour before bed and ... like magic ... there you go - cured.

I wish I'd found it 3 years ago because I wouldn't have spent those endless nights hunched-up on the couch at 3am feeling sorry for myself. I think part of its beneficial action is its de-stressing properties: when I wake during the night, I now feel comfortable in my bed and skin, as opposed to feeling worried and edgy.

Good luck! :)
