Insane Benzo Tolerance

I apparently developed a benzo tolerance from my daily prescribed dosage of 2mg k-pin and 20mg valium. I say this, because I felt like taking a nice relaxing no worries vacation tonight, and 22mg k-pins and 60 mg of valium have had 0 effect on me what so ever. Any ideas, (besides, that yes, that is an awful lot of benzos)?

Why would I feel nearly nothing from this amount of benzos. This is very diappointing. I would appreciate ANY replies, thanks. Is there is reason why no one is replying to this. This is a serious question

They probably just don't know.

Your daily dosage is on the high side of therapeutic, so you will have a tolerance, but it does seem weird that 10 times your habituated dose didn't put a dent in you. Is it possible that you blacked out and just don't remember it? How often do you take a benzocation?

It didnt take long did it? benzo tolerance that bad sure means your dependence will be that bad. THe Kpin has a long have life, longer than that of valium. mixing the two is pointless at this stage. your receptors are fried, your wasteing ur pills - need to give it a break pal.

Have you been abusing your doses a lot previously? Benzo tolerance can creep up on you and you just will need more of it over time for the same effect. You already are on a decent dose so if you have been taking them as prescribed and using them recreationally a lot, then they are going to work less over time. I would say try and lower your dose over time so you arnt wasting all of your meds or use more if you really want to feel good but benzos really don't give you that great of a high.

I dunno...in my darkest days...for about 3 years I was taking appx 8 mg a day of Xanax...sometimes I would get 2mg Klonopin
Like the OP says...I totally agree..i would get frustrated I would pop abot 18-20 mg of klonopin
about an hr later basically just "yawn" yep, a waste of pills and tolerance sucks

It's very possible.. 22 mg is not much if you have a big tollerance.

If i took them very often.. i could eat 200 mg clonazapam, and it would't make much of a difference. So it would be kind of a waste.. Therefor i mixed them with morphines also.


to topic starter: It's not unusual at all.. I have seen it often with friends and in prisons.. If people get benzos regularly, it don't have much of an effect.
The only thing that has worked for me, is simply to lay them on the shelf for a while..

And i powered them up with morphine and other things.. But that is a very bad idea. So please don't do that.

There was a guy in another thread in the other drugs section who said he took 180 Milligrams of Klonopin in one shot and it didn't effect him.

I'm not sure if I believe that, but if it's true then it must not be possible to die from a benzo overdose cause that should kill anyone.

It sounds like your tolerance is too high. It might be time to taper a bit.

I don't buy it either. Simply because OP said he usually takes 2mg of klonopin as prescribed so yes that would means he's developing a tolerance but even 2mg is not that high of a dose, and taking x11 times his usual dose would have him extremely intoxicated or sleep for a long time

I've taking 10mg of Valium and could still function normal, that's how bad my tolerance is, I could also take 10mg of xanax no bother too, gobble temazepam and just release a yawn or two, trust me guys, I've been there. St at safe everyone xxxRachelxxx

Yeah man the only thing to do is go back down to 2mg for a week or2, u gotta get that tolerance under control man. I've taken 180mg over the course of a few days but I did feel it the entire time, mini blackout, low talking etc. It's definitely not that ludacris to believe the op took 11 2mg tabs, I certainly believe him. What's the point of lying in an online forum?

Sorry maybe I am wrong I am not doubting any of your experiences as we all know everybody responds differently to benzo's.but as the above poster stated 180 mg in one shot is absolutely insane.I have been on and off benzo's for 15 years and now I'm steady at 3 mg per day and I probably could use about 5 mg a day to to be right. My worry is I also take about three Percocets a day for pain but I take them at the same time. I know it's a generally safe dose of Percocet as long as you don't go over a certain threshold which I think is 4000 mg of APAP a day.

Benzos are fairly safe if taken alone. You wouldn't die from a benzo overdose (source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1888441?access_num=1888441&link_type=MED&dopt=Abstract).

Valium has a ridiculously long half life so if you're taking 20mg per day it will build up as will your tolerance. I took 3-5mg of klonopin daily for years and tried a few times to get that same feeling I got when I first started by taking more but after a certain point it's definitely just a waste of pills...

I never said it's not realistic that he took 11 of them, that's fine. What I'm saying is there's no way someone who's usual dosage is 2mg which isn't a high dose, takes x11 that amount and doesn't feel ANYTHING. I understand tolerance would build up but at a dose increase that large you should certainly be feeling something.

I agree, he should've felt something. kpins are tricky though, they're subtle.
Maybe op left something out, was he only dosing 2mg daily on the run up or did he take 6mg 3 days before or something like that? Eh, who knows. Best to cut down to the bare min. Needed to stave off wd ASAP or ur just wasting good meds op...

11 of the white TEVAs. Believe me, I'm not just up here writing for entertainment. I've dropped 20 of the the #2 K-pins (40mg), and yes, I was stumbling around like a drunk. That's why I'm confused about this situation.

Well, the tricky thing is this. At the time, I would not have imagined the other two drugs I took would have had any effect on the benzos, but that day I had popped a 48 count bottle of lope (ya, ya I know, the OTC drug that always causes controversy city when it comes up, lets just say that I get a warm, mellow methadone feeling, and leave it at that, TY ) Also, I had taken about 10 600mg gabapentins as part of this cocktail, and a pot of strong coffee. I didn't deliberately leave that out, I just figured that it was unlikely that they would have any noticeable effect against all those benzos. My apologies. Now, with that put out there, anybody got ANY constructive thoughts at all on this subject. (And please don't give me a bad time about not mentioning the other drugs. I already smacked myself about the head and face for my screw up) Not to mention, shit-talking will only get this thread all off track, and I'm genuinely curious to hear some theories on this. Thanks y'all.
