Innate Opiate Tolerance... What about amphetamines?

In my travels I've met many people with varying degrees of tolerance to opiates, obviously everyone is different. But I've also encountered at least a handful of people whose tolerance is high, like in a relatively fucked up way. I am one of these people. 40mg of oxycodone is what it takes for me to "feel it" in a significant way and even then a nod is impossible without copious cannabis. I think everyone has heard of someone like this right?

Anyway this thread is indirectly in response to a previous post which I just replied to: someone requiring 100mg or more of regular old d-amphetamine to feel a little of a buzz. I can catch a satisfying (not quite) high with 30mg of d-amp or 40mg or so of racemic blend. As I've never really heard of this phenomenon with speed, am I blind here or can someone relate to this?

I can relate to the opiate tolerance. I was rx'd percs some years ago for pain, and currently am on norcos for pain. It takes 3-4 (30-40mg) norcos to touch the pain, and at that dose I feel no euphoria. And that's not due to a tolerance build up, it's been that way from the jump. Takes quite a bit of alcohol to get me drunk, and unless the pot is really potent, it is generally pretty useless. A mild buzz at best. Benzos, same deal. I've just come to accept with any medication or drug i'll generally require a higher dosage than the norm. I envy my wife at times who can deal with pain with half a vic, and that will also knock her out for a few hours. It's redic how low her tolerance is.

I've never experimented with amphetamines, due mainly to my arrhythmia. I am on a beta blocker for it so I steer clear of anything that will make my heart go too crazy. I just assumed my tolerance would be higher there as well, but I've never tested it.
