Last night i was trying to inject a large amount of tar heroin (about $80 worth). I usually have difficulty finding veins, largely a product of my heavy usage of IV pills approx. 1 year ago. Now that im on methadone, I shoot heroin maybe 1x a week at most. But it is always a terrific chore to find a vein, but last night, well, it was the worst ive ever experienced. One would think that most of the veins that i destroyed one year ago would be somewhat regenerating, but for the most part, despite heavy weight lifting, i have a hard time finding a vein. The weight lifting seems likes its only working towards my detriment, the muscles are big, but the veins have retreated back towards the bone.
Last night i gave up, after more than TWO fucking hours of poking myself. I tried my arms, my wrists, my hands, my feet (which i have used before effectively), and i even starting trying the veins on my thighs, something that i never do. I was using a 27g 1cc rig, and i had gotten some blood in it, so i transfered it to a 5cc rig, with a detachable fresh 30g needle, and i added about .4cc of saline. I tried injecting this, but i only got more blood, the veins i were trying to get were the kind where you stick it in and some blood comes out, but when you try to push in the dope, it balloons up. I got so pissed off after 2 and a half hours that i gave up and went to bed. I still have it in the 5cc rig, and it has coagulated somewhat, but is still a fluid. This was an $80 shot, and i want to retrieve it somehow. I know if i add like 1cc of saline it should turn back into a less thick solution, but i am wary about shooting some of my gunked up blood, plus im pretty sure it would clog the small 30g needle. If i added like 2cc of saline, it would probably lower the viscocity. Or should i put it back into a spoon, add more saline and cook it a little to make a uniform solution, than put it back into the big syringe. Or should i just dump my $80 shot. Has anyone waited a while and then shoot a loaded rig that had blood in it? Ive heard of junkies taking half a shot, and saving the rest for later. But then again, i dont think they give shit to begin with. I just dont want to inject a blood clot, and i dont know what kind of bacteria could be brewing in there. Getting heroin is a bitch, and i dont want to waste such a large shot, but $80 isnt worth getting sick over. So has anyone had this happen, or something resembling it? How can i salvage this shot? And even if i do salvage it, i still cant find a suitable vein to shoot it in. Any suggestions about some unorthodox places to shoot that i did not already mention?
